Trial date set August 14th.

Is the judge doing Trump a favor or not with an early start date?
Of course the judge is doing him a favor, as far as his cult base is concerned - they'll get to enjoy doing what they do best - crying about how the system is rigged, and how he's being "treated very unfairly". Those lunatics love a good cry session for trump.

As far as objective reality, the legal system and justice are concerned however, I think trump is in deeper shit than he was expecting at this point.

Typically the best thing for the defense is "Delay, Delay, Delay" so I don't think this is good news for trump. He still has his freedom so it's not like he has to wait in the clink until the trial starts. Don't know how long the trial will last but he will likely be convicted of something so there goes his presidential bid. Even after this, more legal troubles are in the offing. Even Melania doesn't want anything to do with the Trump train wreck.
