I've received word of a new rule from the rules committe of the IGTCA (International Guess The Creature Association):

Rule 6: If a creature is not guessed within 12 hours of posting, the contest originator may, at his/her sole discretion declare the creature's poster the winner of the round, and restart the game with a new creature.

All right, Ginger wins the round. Hers was a jerboa, a hopping desert rodent found throughout Northern Africa and Asia east to northern China and Manchuria.
