What would *YOU* do if you were outed to your employer resulting in termination of your position? Especially if you had had spent 4 to 6 months dating a provider from the boards here in a committed, monogamous (beyond her turning tricks) relationship that ended about 2 months before the outing occurred? And she or her clique of friends were the only ones with intimate knowledge of where you worked and materials supplied to your employer, especially if you had just started a new job near the end of the relationship.
Realize that Texas is an at-will termination state and no reason for termination is required! So, after getting an attorney on board that specializes in employment law, a quick call from the lawyer to find out more details, you found out that the real reason you were fired is an anonymous package of reviews and emails tying the two (reviewer and an email with reviewers phone and address) together, to you the hobbyist or provider, was mailed on Valentines day to your company, what would you do?
How would you handle it? What would be your immediate visceral reaction? How do you think the various active boards in this area should handle it? What kind of information should be disseminated to the board?
I can tell you, that in my case, the above is actually a true scenario as of last week Tuesday. Sadly, I will be moving out of state very soon as part of a good employment opportunity that will benefit me financially and hopefully rebuild my career.
Luckily a very good friend of mine is the attorney in the scenario, we care about each other very much and she took a big affront to the outing. The lawyer has an excellent team of PI's that she is drawing from to help document the proof needed for further action. So, I'd love to hear what the hobbyist and providers think about this..... just how would you handle this? Am I headed down the wrong path? Or not doing enough quick enough?
And please, don't post the typical - You dumb ass, you ain't Richard Gere and she wasn't Julia Roberts type answers, I know I lost at the "Save a Ho" game BIG TIME. I'd really like to hear how YOU would deal with BEING OUTED and FIRED! Or just plain OUTED.....
