First time in Pensacola

Hi guys, Heading your way from Memphis next week.
Are there any areas of town that a provider should NOT stay? Would most Pensacola locals go to Gulf Breeze or is that too far out of the way?

Gulf Breeze is a bit of a pain, but I would think primarily on weekends and rush-hours. There are quite a few reputable hotels around the Cordova Mall/Airport area...and quite a few bars/restaurants which would make downtime more fun
