Probably a very profitable dishonest scam on customers.

That's really messed up. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but I would think it would be easier to just provide good service than to pay someone for fake reviews. It should be pretty easy to figure out though since they will probably have a lot of bad reviews and then out of the blue start getting really good ones.
