The legalization of prostitution.

Based on something I read on another thread here, I had a thought. If prostitution were to be legalized, would that in turn help or hurt those who are already in business? There are many factors to consider here.

Studies have shown that making something illegal or legal does not increase or decrease the activity. You just move the supply side from law abiding people to criminals. To me the issue is not if it helps or hurts. People are being used, exploited, robbed, beaten, killed, and god knows what else because it is illegal. Case in point Studio A problems. If it were legal you would probably have more Studio places, which would be safer for both providers and clients.

If it were set up legally, I am pretty sure the govt would impose mandatory medical check ups= have certain requirements of where they can set up incalls- it would probably changed a few lady habits and it will surely hurt the BP lades- don't think it will affect established Eccie ladies as much.
My thoughts

1. We would probably have an influx of "new" providers.
2. We would see more organization in the form of big business (think Walmart)
3. We would probably see more readily available "bargain" providers based on big business (think Walmart)
4. This will leave "mom and pop" providers with more competition. (Think Walmart)
5. We would see strict regulations and tax implications for independent providers.
6. Then again, there would most likely be a larger client base as well.
7. There would be more of a "class" system of providers.
8. Just too many factors here, fun to discuss though

I had the same discussion with a buddy who happens to be a male escort (no homo), lol! I think we were trying to come up with reasons why the illegality and the forbiddenness of hobbying actually was a benefit to it. Just food for thought.

It won't happen in any major way as long as preachers get donations for preaching against it, politicians get votes for legislating against it and lawyers get paid to defend it and prosecute it. Just follow the money.

There is and will always be bible thumpers trying to buzzkill your typical adult oriented fun. What can you do. Damn near everything we do is a sin anyway.

I just don't understand how anyone can tell adults that they can't combine two PERFECTLY LEGAL things, both of which by themselves are perfectly fine on their own.

Thinking about Uncle Sam taking a tax cut. The ultimate Pimp game. Not a good idea in my opinion.

It doesn't need to be 'legal', just NOT illegal.

Big difference.
You can't even buy a bottle of Grey Goose on a Sunday in Texas and other states.

That's how far we have to go before they decriminalize Prositution.

So long as you have sex negative feminists claiming it is all human trafficking on Twitter, don't get your hopes up. We have an even more radical force than bible thumpers, we have Sex negative feminists.

Now it's illegal in Canada again, because they made people think all sex workers are slaves. If not slaves, abused, coerced, objectified, etc.

I've no doubt human trafficking exists, but the wholesale assault on personal freedom in the name of fighting it makes me think it is probably less pervasive than it is portrayed to be.
Somewhere in Nevada, Dennis Hof is laughing his ass off . . .

The term trafficking is being way overused. Personally, I think it's more in line with a new kind of battered women syndrome than a modern day slavery kind of thing since most of these chicks will go running back to their bad situation as soon as they get the chance.

Not sure how legalization or decriminalization would change that.

I will say the internet has made it the next best thing to decriminalized since the risk of getting caught is next to nothing if you play your hand right. I wouldn't be comfortable providing if not for the safety of the Internet.

Agree completely with Rambo.
It should simply not be illegal for adults, and also not regulated.
Just as it is not illegal and not regulated for BSB and THN to come over, hang around in the garage on Sat afternoon and drink beer, wine or tea and discuss the nuances of decriminalization -v- 'making it not illegal'.
If we choose to have a threesome among friends, well that's our business too and it is currently not illegal, nor is it regulated.

Generally, regulation can be restated as revenue.

It can all be summed up as 'I am an adult and as such, it should not be illegal to swing my fist around as long as it does not hit your nose.'
