Yeah but it gets more complicated when you meet a lady in Springfield, Decatur, Champaign, or Charleston.
This section is titled St. Louis, Eastern Missouri, and Southern Illinois. But what is "Southern Illinois"? Now if you are from the cities I mentioned previous you'd might call "Southern Illinois" anything south of I-64 or maybe US 50. If you have a more northernly orientation you might call anything south of I-70 "Southern IL" and if you are from the Chicagoland area probably anything south of I-80 is "Southern IL".
Decatur is actually closer to St. Louis than Chicago but when people are looking for information on that city I don't know if they'd connect it with "STL, E Missouri, S Illinois".
Then we have Charleston, IL which according to Google is 185 miles and 3 hours 20 minutes from both St. Louis and Chicago. Fortunately for staff here its highly doubtful anyone will be reporting on action in that city. Though as the home to Eastern IL University - Go Panthers!, you'd think there would be a college girl or two trying to earn some money to help with school expenses. I do know of two former providers who live in the Charleston area but if either actually still provide they are keeping it way utr.

FWIW, I'd put anything from roughly Peoria on south here, and anything north of Peoria in the Chicago forums. But that's just me. Management here can figure out what goes best where, and after a few years the rest of us would pick it up by osmosis.
To pick up your semantic football and run with it, I still think "Springfield" isn't quite "Eastern Missouri". When I proposed splitting the MO forum, I figured anything from STL to Columbia (inclusive) was "Eastern" MO, and anything west of the N-S axis running through the western suburbs of Columbia (if Columbia is big enough to have 'burbs
) would be "Western" MO, and would fit best in the KS/KC forum. But over the year or so that the split's been enforced, Springfieldians (sp?) have gravitated here as opposed to the KC forums. No big deal. It pretty much means that "Eastern Missouri" has been defined here to mean "Missouri except for the KC area". Kinda grates on my sense of geographical correctness, but if I got my knickers in a twist every time something grates on one or more of my senses of correctness, I wouldn't have time to do anything else.
Cheers,
