pop ups

Can anyone tell me how to eliminate pop ups on Mozilla Firefox, I get these blank windows that come from the sides and sometimes windows for "Together we can fight cancer" click here or i can close it, but the minute I switch pages it comes back, plus some wording on the pages are highlighted green in color and when u scroll over them they have pop ups, so annoying and I just can't seem to rid them, if I do rid them a few clicks of pages and they're back.

Any help please!!

Have you tried downloading the latest version? I'm running it with no issues

Go to your options and select block pop-ups.

Download AbBlock Plus as an add-on and use the standard definitions.
