FOOD

Okay guys I have been in KC for a day and a half now and I'm not fond of hotel food although my hotel is upscale and I'm sure has decent food. I was wondering what are some good BBQ places around here. I went to Jack stacks BBQ and it wasn't anything to rave about. And it had really good reviews on Yelp..
Any suggestions people. I'm here until Monday so I figure I'll need at least 6 more places to eat. lol

I'm surprised about your report on Jack Stack.
That said, here's perhaps the top two in KC (but this will start a food fight discussion)

Joe's BBQ: 47th & Mission

Q39: on 39th west of SW Trafficway

I'll make sure to look at those two places for reviews although like I said Jacks BBQ has good reviews and meh.... the beef ribs were chewy and really under cooked.
I looked on Yelp didn't they have some sort of debacle... something about them companies paying for rating them no 1??
Joe's is my favorite!

Here in KC there's an alternative weekly mag named "Pitch".
They have quite a lot of food and bar reviews and they don't pull punches.
Perhaps check there as well for reviews for any place you're considering.

KC's best kept secret..

The baby back ribs are the best in the city and don't need sauce. The burnt ends rock as well.

Adalina, probably the best BBQ in the KC area happens in my back yard on my Weber smoker. In fact, doing a brisket point on Monday for burnt ends. Did some chicken (in the rain) today. Unfortunately, the spouse would probably object to an invite. Go figure!

Have fun in KC, both BBQ and BCD...

For KC....Q39 https://q39kc.com/ All around good food...sit down upscale
Slaps http://www.slapsbbqkc.com/ Local comp boys serve excellent Q only open during the day
Roscoes http://www.roscoeskcbbq.com/ Small mom and pop.. B/E's and ribs are best...sides are weak.. 3.2 beer only open til 7 pm
Joe's KC http://www.joeskc.com/ the most famous right now get a lot of national TV time...just ok in my books
Arthur Bryants http://www.arthurbryantsbbq.com/our_restaurants/ If you want bbq history go to the original...brisket is best and can be hit or miss...sauce is an acquired taste.
Gates http://www.gatesbbq.com/ Also a local legend...I like their ribs

Most in KC would suggest Joe's and skip the rest...I am skip Joes and hit the rest
