BBQ providers-Truvada going generic!!

This is a post concerning the fact that in September of 2020, Truvada (the HIV prevention drug) is going generic in America. To give an idea as to the financial impact of this drug going generic, one needs to only look at Australia where the drug is sold for only $8, as opposed to the US where this drug is sold for $1800. I think this drug will allow providers to expand their menu to include more bareback interaction with clients. Your thoughts about this....

Price will probably stay the same or go up, now that 43 states are suing the generic companies for price fixing. There's a reason why we pay the highest prices for pharmaceuticals in the world.

Good luck with the idea that any provider will spend $1800 + a month just to let clients bareback them....

There are several well known providers on ECCIE that offer BBFS. Why don't you ask them?

Never tried it and I think it reduces odds not prevent. I do know of a few guys who have gone to Thailand recently as well as some German guys ( they love to escape down there) who took this drug, or am I confusing it with ' Prep?' They the same?

The guys I know pretty much walked Pattaya/Beach Road I think and went to clubs asking each girl for bareback and once they got a ' yes or ok' they would go to the walk in clinics and get the STD test done on the spot and within an hour the doctor gave them this ' Prep' and they than booked the girls their entire trip and barebacked them. One sent me the pics of his ' girlfriend' and she was hot but I am not in to Asians and have zero desire to go to Asia.

The biggest worry about guys who bareback in Thailand is there is a strand of Gonorrhea that supposedly originates in SE Asia and hopefully none of these guys bring it back to Germany! Some girls in Germany often won't fuck the guys if they know they went to SE Asia. Prep or no Prep.

This strand does not respond to typical antibiotic treatment and can take numerous tries to kill the disease. I have zero desire to go to SE Asia at all not to mention the long flights over there. Screw that. 10 hours to Europe is long enough for me..

As to the girls menu here the reality is everyone of them barebacks even the ones who deny it in fact one ATX girl who trashes other ones for it does it herself and is well known to use BBFS to lure clients away from her competitors. Other ones deny it too yet do doubles with the Bareback ones who tell me these ' deniers' are letting the guys CIP them many on the first date.

To each their own but hypocrisy reigns supreme on these boards with both M/F in denial so as the poster above mentions just ask many of the well known providers.

And I really do not like TX BBQ either; dried out and too salty and the sauce not great but I am also from the east coast used to the Carolina and Memphis styles and having lived in Chicago the Chicago/Kansas City style. I did have an incredible BBQ dinner outside of Dallas once the rib appetizer was bigger than any rib entree served anywhere and the only thing I remember about the place was that if you wore a necktie in tradition is for the server to cut it off in the center and plaster it on the wall. That place I would return too ; best BBQ meal in Texas I ever had.

Truvada as PrEP is a great way to prevent HIV transmission. There have been single digit reports of transmission of HIV while someone is using Truvada as PrEP, and these incidents may have more to do with human error (not taking the drug daily) than with the drug itself.

Truvada is no reason to bareback, but it does offer peace of mind for us providers! Accidents happen, condoms break... yada yada yada. Id much rather know that HIV isn't a risk. Yes all sorts of other things are still a risk, but at least Truvada as PrEP takes HIV out of the mix.

I've been on Truvada as PrEP since the fall of 2016. Truvada as PrEP is covered by major insurance companies so while the generic is exciting overall for public health, if you are someone with health insurance, its kind of a mute point since you should already have access to it.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Great. A program to help develop a more deadly strain of HIV.

And, it is well known that KC has the best BBQ.
