Being a higher volume provider is probably like being a schoolteacher, you’re going to be exposed to more contagious diseases than your average person. So maybe some think avoiding kissing is a good way to avoid flu or a cold. From what I’ve read, kissing actually isn’t a common way to spread disease. It’s much more likely you’ll touch something with the cold virus then put your finger in your nose or your eye. I think airborne viruses from coughs and sneezes, where you inhale it, are common ways to catch a cold virus too. Anyway IMHO, providers should avoid nose picking, not kissing. And they should wash their hands a lot
