💋💋🧳Thinking about Albuquerque🧳💋💋
If I decide to come...
Anything I should know?
I will be a first time visitor!
Avoid staying near Tramway/Central, Menual/University, Coors/I-40 Airport area has decent hotels and good places to eat as does Uptown near Louisiana/I-40
If you want to do tourist things or head into the mountains, you might need to rent a car instead of Uber. A lot of us don't like going to the airport area, but it seems like quite a few providers stay there.
Second renting a car if you want to do any touristy stuff at all. For any of the "business class" hotels, parking your car in the lot should be safe so long as you use common sense (don't leave sacks of money on the seat, don't park behind a shed next to the fence, etc). If you like national parks and hiking, NM has you covered. If you don't... I guess Meow Wolf is worth visiting once to decide if you think it is the greatest thing ever made or incredibly overrated?
One thing that has increasingly confused me: Socioeconomics wise, the majority of the mid/upper scale clients are likely out near Santa Fe. Obviously staying in Santa Fe is considerably more expensive (require a car, hotel and food prices are a lot higher, food quality may actually be lower on average than ABQ and tends to shut down early in the evening, still basically a glorified rest stop on the highway). But most providers on a tour seem to increasingly do tuesday to thursday visits.
Presumably that maps out to cheaper flights (since that would line up with business trips to the state), but I do wonder what it does profit wise since I know I can't commit to driving an hour or two each way on anything but a weekend.
