Toy Drive Questions...

Okay, this is for boys AND girls:

The past three years, I have announced a toy drive to all my clients. I know there are other providers that have done so also.

My question is: Do you ladies generally have good success with this? Do you gentlemen like to participate?

My reason for asking is that the first two years, it went really well and I collected a fair amount of toys. Last year was dreadful! I collected 3 stuffed bears...and THAT was from one client!

I have offered a $10 discount for any new unwrapped toy or gift card in the past. Is this reasonable? No? I mean, it's more about the toys and goodwill than the money but I'm just curious as to how everyone feels about this.

Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?

What I have personally done for Christmas in the past...
1) I found a provider that I would like to see
2) Look at her hourly rate
3) Take that money and purchase toys and items needed
4) Donate the items and toys to one of the major toy drives (Toys for Tots, Salvation Army Angel Tree, etc.)

then some time in February treat myself to the provider above.

Vicky,
The place I often go to is having a toy drive. The give a $10 discount on any session if you bring a toy.

CPI that is so wrong.
SP, you beat me to it! But then again, would you expect anything LESS from cpi? LOL!

That's a great deal, Peanut! Good for you!

Crossroads, that's the deal I'm thinking of offering...

Thanks all!

Vnurse, I totally support what you are doing. That is why I suggested at the Christmas socials every year we sponsor the Toys for Tots. I think what you are doing is a great idea and if I can do anything to help, I gladly will...
Thanks Summer! I appreciate that.

That's a very cute picture, by the way! Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Have toys will travel (soon).
Now that darn cpi got me to thinking...if you HAVE his kind of toy to donate, I suppose that would be okay too...

I can't promise it would make it to the angel tree! LOL!

On a more serious note: I have a gentleman who has promised to match (dollar per dollar, up to 1K) any cash donation made to the Salvation Army Angel Tree through me. I will accept cash and/or checks between now and Christmas Eve. The checks can be made out to the organization so as not to arouse any suspicions. Thank you VERY much to this gentleman and thanks to all of you (in advance) for your generosity!
