Why do most black women on backpage post in there ads that they are spanish( cuban, dominican, brazilian etc.) When they are clearly not. Do they think exotic sales or they would get more clients that way.

As Paven pointed, they do exist. Many of them were descendents of black slaves who were brought there by the Spanish Conquistadors after a majority of the original natives, the Carribean Indians, died from diseases and infections of which they were not immune from.

Well, that takes the cake for "Most Uneducated Statement I've Seen Today".

You do realize that, as others have pointed out, these "Spanish" nationalities come in literally every shade. You would probably be the type to look at say, my entire family, and assume that we are all black or African-American, when that's just not the case. We are Polynesian, West Indy, West African, Latina/o, Spanish, Caribbean, Pacific Islander etc.

There are extremely subtle differences in each, but the pride in each specific culture my family shares is very clear to even the most untrained eye.

For the record, some of us do identify (legally, atleast) as Black. Why not all of us? Because "black" often brings the assumption of African American, which is not always true. Overall, "black" is a really non-descriptive term applied to anyone with darker than tan skin. It actually offends many people, but remains in use simply because its easier than actually developing a comprehensive way to categorize people of color, which is really a shame. Also, it should be noted that not all black people are descendants of slaves. To some people of color, assuming that they are born of slavery simply because of the hue of their flesh, is just as offensive as calling an African-American the "N" word.

Sure, we could all just call ourselves "black" to make it easier for those who really don't care to educate themselves on such things, but if someone has extremely dark skin and is Dominican, and proudly states so, it is not in your place to just throw up your hands in frustration that they simply refuse to racially identify themselves in a way convient for you and your apparent ignorance.

It would also be wrong to say that they should identify as black simply because "well hey, they all look black!" They look that way to you much in the same way most Americans can't tell Asians or Middle Easterners apart.

I reserve the right to advertise myself as Black, Brazilian, Belizian,African-American or Creole because all of which are correct. Even if my skin were 10 shades darker, I still would have that right and could still very well have all of those genealogical traits. Those traits being listed in my advertising are like Irish gal calling herself a "Irish Green-Eyed Beauty" or a beautiful Eastern European saying she is a " Russian Blonde Bombshell". Would you complain if these two did not just call themselves white girls?

Now, being realistic, I don't expect every person I see, especially every 30-70yr old white male client I meet, to have a detailed understanding of the intricacies in Black American culture. I do however, expect that they have enough presence of mind to simply shut their mouths about a sensitive topic if they do not understand it and are not educated on it. I also expect that they would not dare be so foolish to ever take some offhand statement or some collection of offhand statements from "my black friend" or "a hot black chick I dated in college" as fact -OR- that the opinion of one black person about how they racially identify would be the opinions of all black people.

At the end of the day, a physically beautiful woman with a great personality is what "sells". I'm specific about my race for me, not for you. I'm proud of it so I flaunt it. For some guys, I'm sure it is just an added benefit, but if there really are men who would look at an otherwise beautiful girl and refuse to see her because of some preconceived notions about her being black (or any race for that matter), I hope to god that is a client I never have the displeasure of meeting.

First off I grew up on the east coast my whole life (Conneticut) until about three years ago when I moved down south. So came across and interacted with my fare share of afro-spanish people. But how often do you see that down south. Especially Looser-ana. This is not Miami. I spoke to and had sessions with some of these girls. And there is clearly nothing spanish about them. Me as a african-american man. i'm entitled to call my people out on there bull-shit. Some of these women just think being black alone is not spicy enough. I don't know why balck is beautiful. Oh! My goodness I am so sorry, your African American yourself, so of course you can't possibly say rude and incorrect things about anyone of your race or people who look like they are of your race.

And we all know that every single family that immigrates to the US, especially Spanish-speaking ones, make it a point to pass down all of the Spanish heritage, given the wonderful reception people who speak Spanish, or even speak English with a heavy Spanish accent, are given here in the US.

I mean, what's Miami got next to say, New Orleans? First inhabited by Natives, then the Spanish, then the French, then became the worlds premier trading port, grew up to become the most European city in all of the US...my goodness, not a drop of diversity or culture to be found around these parts.

Clearly, you know better than I! You can tell someone's entire racial makeup at a glance..? And, you, entitled to call others out on bullshit? Well of course, its a well known fact that you can say anything - no matter how stupid or rude - about any individual with your same skin color. That's totally how the world works, right?

Its really so kind of you to take time out of 15 and 30min sessions to do a litmus test to check that they are being as accurate about their ethnic make up as they suggest in their advertising. How and when exactly did you become an irrefutable authority on who is and who is not of Spanish descent?

So lets see....You can tell Miami from Louisiana, and are from Connecticut, you also see lots of escorts, and read things on Backpage, as an extra treat, anyone of dark skin is very obviously of "your people"...and with all of this, these great super powers of yours, you make big decisions about the world in it and the people around you...you sir, are clearly an in-the-know kind of brother!

DD. Your respnses were very well written. Good job. I don't have an issue with african-americans of spanish descent. But some people try to identify with cultures they know absolutely nothing about. Be proud of who you are. Having a Memphis Tn. accent and a lace front weave makes you spanish now. Well hey this is a business of selling dreams and fantasies. I (call me ignorant if you want....water off a ducks back) like the asian look. However, not saying that is the only look I like...but it is rare....which supply and demand....makes it more precious. However, there is nothing more annoying (Ok, there are like a million things more annoying, like PC bullshit), than searching for asian and getting results that are no where close to being asian. Yes, perhaps someone in their ancestry at some far removed point were asian......but if you are 5'7"+, over 145 pounds, white or black...and have no semblance of the stereotypical look.....please for the sake of all of us shallow dawgs....please don't subject us to a genealogy lesson in an excuse to try and draw our attention to you.

I have not seen this very often on here, maybe once or twice and then it was about a BP girl. I assume we are talking about BP cause that is the only site that lists racial descriptions in the titles of ads for the most part.

As far as the race thing goes on here, it is my feelings that it is used as a description of general looks. A categorical way to easily describe a how a person appears. Telling if they are white, hispanic, or black....eliminates other the other looks, then you list eye color, height, hair....you can describe someone very clearly in a very short amount of time. Now if we want to be PC, we could write a tome about them and still have NO clue what they look like. However, since this is a hooker board, and not a meeting of some genealogical preservation club....hopefully we can all agree that we can be a clear as possible and know that we are not purposefully denigrating people's feeling by using descriptors such as white, black, or hispanic.
