THE DFW COCKTAIL LIST

menace2myself's Avatar
Ok, very simple (I know, nothing is simple on this board)

If you are a drinker, odds are you have favorite spots to get an adult beverage. You may like it for the chill vibe, the action (or lack thereof), the bartenders, the clientelle, the location, the drink/wine list, the happy hour prices, the music, the bar food, the bathrooms…whatever.

JOT DOWN ONE OR MORE OF YOUR FAVORITE DRINKING SPOTS (ANYWHERE DFW) AND BRIEFLY EXPLAIN THE REASON WHY YOU FAVOR IT.

This is a take off from another thread, but that thread expressed dislike for providers who share spots with the expectation of free drinks.

That is not an issue in this thread. How you intend to pay for your drinks (or others) is entirely your business. This is merely a drinker's forum to discover new alcohol realms in all corners of the collection of municipalities we refer to as DFW.

On a personal note, I will buy a drink for a pretty lady on occasion, but only of my own volition, not expectation; expressed or implied.

I appreciate your sharing & always up for new drinking holes to explore.

Cheers!

Urban Crust - Downtown Plano
Third story "treehouse" bar is long and narrow with a frozen bartop and about 3 or 4 high tops. Bartenders are okay, local regulars, good Flatbread. Good place to sit for a chill. Out door area during nice weather.

Rattlesnake Bar, Intercontinental Hotel. Nice place to have a drink after eating at Fearing’s. Quiet corners if a busy bar, your choice. Too busy on weekends.

Mansion Bar. Quiet most nights. More lively in weekends, but not too much so. Downside it’s dressier than I prefer unless I’ve been in court.

Library Bar, Melrose Hotel, quiet all the time. Very civilized. You and the person you’re with can have a serious conversation.

I don’t really have a good cocktail bar that’s not in an hotel and quiet. Wish I knew one. Any number if pubs or beer joints, but no real bar, per se.

Second Rodeo in the Stockyards is a favorite Hangout of mine plus if you get bored you can barhop to other places.

Parking sucks on the weekends but you meet allot of country girls who just want to talk and meet people.

More casual than other in this list, but nit a bad place to have au drink.

Hotel Vin lobby bar IS the new meet, greet & take it home spot of GV-CV-SL. AND, lots of available ladies in for RW biz, and happy to show you their room. Rooftop bar is happening on nice weather evenings, if you like more of the club feel (DJ, etc).
