the new PLAYBOY IS OUT

As it worked out, my subscription ended with the last "nude" issue.

When they announced the new "no nudity" policy, I sent them a politely-worded Letter to the Editor explaining why I would not be renewing my subscription.

I've been reading "Playboy" for over fifty years. I've been looking at "beautiful photographs of beautiful women" in all that time. The quality of the photography has always been the thing that set "Playboy" apart from all the other "men's magazines". When the new kids claim that today's readers can find porn anywhere, it is clear to me that they have NEVER LOOKED at a "Playboy" photo and compared it with the "competition". It is also clear that they have NO idea what really goes into doing serious glamour photography.

The new kids want to make "Playboy" compete with "Maxim". Bad idea, in my opinion.
Paid fantasies are better then a playboy magazine.Yes playboy out.

I posted a topic about the same thing last week. I haven't seen a copy of the new one.

I wonder how much different it looks, in formatting, than the others?

Since I'm just interested in the magazine for the articles (lol), I'm not sure that it would affect me one way or the other, in terms of getting a subscription.

Jury is still out with me.

Hey, I just read it for the articles and interviews all these years. So has that changed????

At least that is what I told my GF, now SO. Guess I'll have to keep the subscription, even without the nudes or prove that I was lying all these years.

I read the Playboy Mansion is up for sale with the restriction that Hef would live in it until his passing. Sounds like the death kneel of an American Icon. Does the Playboy channel still exhibit nudity/sex? The empire has been going downhill since his daughter took over.

I actually wrote the magazine once in the 90's telling them to stop painting "clown lips" on the playmates.

Read several weeks ago that Playboy was going to stop publishing nude centerfolds, because of the nudity and raw sex that one can get on the internet. Feels it has lost its "nitch." It was going to publish photos of partially clad women and concentrate on publishing stories and articles.

Alas and forsooth, I only read those anyway!!

Gulp . . . . . Goodbye, Marilyn!!

You were a wonderful inspiration that started decades of dedicated readers, I being one! We of the literary world will remember and love you forever.

Just received the "new" Playboy and to cut to the chase, it sucks! I've been subscribing for decades and I am terminating my subscription.
I thought I'd give it a chance but one printing is all I need to make my judgement call.
It's the sorry end of an era.
Look for a new editorial staff soon. This will go over just like New Coke. Is this more of the PC crap.
