Lingerie' Photos are so yesterday!

Through My Eyes's Avatar
Look at every ad, every showcase, every website for providers and you will usually see the following...

1) Lingerie'!~ Damn near everyone in a bedroom setting
2) Nudes~ These will vary from classy to bent over and shot from the bathroom mirror
3) Costumes~ School girls and Librarians seem to be the most common and all the same poses

Do you wanna stand out or do you wanna blend in? The choice is yours!

So gimme a shout if you're ready to take the leap!

Actually the point is to show every thing but cover everything with something equally valuable and then prove that you almost 100% reality, you sell like hot cake.

Myeyes, I agree with you. If we can find more imaginative ways to look at beauty, all the better. But there is room for all styles.
Agree with the premise of your post. Photos get stale quickly and particularly tiresome are those taken in hotels with peek-a-boo glimpses of a $49 a night toilet.

But lingerie photos won't ever be passe. Denim and game shirts are nice but white lace and black satin are timeless.

Without wading too deep into the "lingerie/no lingerie" debate, I did note Mr. Eyes's comment:

Dude, I need YOUR class of friends! (And nice, beautiful work.)

Not sure this captures the realism that hobbyists expect when looking for a potential provider. These pictures are absolutely beautiful though.
There was a lady out of North Carolina, Alyse, maybe, who used to take and post shots like this. Good stuff for sure. But I stand by my original thought, that lingerie shots will never be 'so yesterday.' If so, to hell with today and tomorrow, I'm living in the past!
My Eyes,
I rarely say anything about someones ads here and actually feel comments should not even be allowed. But I cannot pass up a golden opportunity here. You see...I find as a market consultant you need a little help and as a provider I am kind of insulted.
.
As a marketing consultant in this industry ... I will give you a small piece of unsolicited advice.
First and foremost I understand you were looking for a "hook" as we call it in marketing to draw folks into your ad. You found one... but it is a somewhat controversial one. Not to mention a slightly insulting one and just a tiny bit hypocritical.

Controversial... because women try to emulate what men think is sexy and what their client can expect when choosing them ( or at least they should) and sexy is definitely in the eye of the beholder but studies and stats show lingerie is an all time fav. not to say other things are sexy just the odds go with lingerie.

Insulting... because the large majority of providers have photo in lingerie so you are telling them their photo are "so yesterday" Which I understand you thought might motivate them to get new ones but it's likely they wouldn't choose the person who insulted them to do the photos. Even if they bought the "so yesterday" stuff they will ask someone who probably hasn't insulted them to do them and just show your examples or tell them what they want.

Hypocritical.... because after looking at your site I noticed that all most all of your portfolio is lingerie shots.

Now on to logic....
One of the very fantasies providers provide is an accessible women in lingerie. Most mens wives and sig. others don't do it after the first few dates or in some lucky cases year or two, so they come to the provider for that fantasy. Also it's hard for many gents to tell some you are just dating that you want them to wear lingerie. As a provider I am asked all the time to wear what I had on in a photo or something similar. Trust me the lingerie business is a multi billion dollar business and it is not because we ( women) love the feel of a thong between or ass or the comfort of a ridged push up bra or the way a tight corset improves our posture ...lol

But all and all my number one advice to providers is your photos and your website should be an extension of yourself. If your persona is not at least a part of who you are then your pretense will show.
The successful provider finds their inner Marilyn Monroe or Victoria Secrete Model or Kinky Mistress and runs with it. It may not be who she is day to day but it is at least a part of her and her photos should reflect that in the best way possible along with a bit of Girl next door, Accomplished Business Women or Biker Chick or any other part of thenselves they wish to show.

So as a provider, if you are never going to answer your door in sexy lingerie or have it on under the clothes you are wearing for the appt or at least offer to model some now and again... then don't do photos in it.... Besides a mans shirt w/ one btton buttoned, a string of pearls, some black high heels and some red lips can just as easily do the trick!
All and all ... lingerie will likely never be yesterdays news. The day all men stop fantasizing about stockings and garters that's when photos of it will be yesterdays news. It hasn't happened in centuries though.
My advice is to get to know your subject that you are shooting and bring out her inner sexy in a true fashion according to who she is as a provider.

Lastly...I don't wish to embarrass you but...
Your quick thrown together wix site from a template for us providers ( because we wouldn't want to see portraits and kids pics on your really well thought out professional photography site you probably have etc..) screams " SURE I'll take providers money but I won't take real time to develop a real website (w/o mis spelled words and insults) and true forethought for marketing to this large profitable segment of business plus....
you then ... insult us once again by pointing out providers are flakes. I see you said you don't want to be a dick...but you kind of were...I find it best in business to just state your terms w/o explanation and stand behind them...no need to say because some of you are flakes I have to be a dick. BTW I build in the Wix platform for my clients maybe I could help you with yours...
Best of luck... just my 2 cents worth....

BTW to the person who mention the cheap hotel rooms photos...
YES girls if the room you are taking photos in has a bedspread older than you then just go with the sheets. Unless they are dingy or stained ....you can always by a bright colored flat sheet at walmart for a few bucks.. Have who ever is shooting the shots get as little of the room as possible.
Also the best thing is to get a 3 star room from hotwire for $50 to $80 or go in a on a more expensive room with another who wants to do photos. Trust me you may think men don't notice those things in a photo but they do.
I just hope your friends don't mind their images are on an escort site.... BD Originally Posted by ben dover
