Is BBBJ Safe?

Relatively new to the hobby...probably two years now. I'm always tempted to try BBBJ, but wuss out when I'm up to the plate. Any insight on what you can/can't catch and the likelihood? I guess I wan to hear it's safe, but honesty would be appreciated.
