Just a suggestion, but I'd advise you to take that question as PM's with some of the local (lady) providers here or in their private chat/posting area...

Most hotels, even the nice ones, will let you check in early and give them a cash deposit.

Sheratons are becoming the exception. There area few Hiltons that require a credit card but generally, they're pretty cool about deposits, too (The Hilton Chicago will require a credit card or at least a bank card). And the Klimpton properties, not sure if there is any in Dallas, require a credit card.

At some places, when I used to go to hotels, I always check in early. A couple of times at 8 AM.

However, I've noticed (lately) when I've been traveling that some hotels balk a bit when you get there before 9:30 or 10'ish.

If they have room available, though, I haven't had a problem with checking in early. Ever. Just tell them that you just got to town and need to get in your room.

It does depend on the hotel, though. And I know that you're asking for names.

I have never had an issue with Marriots or Hyatts. Also, the cash deposit amounts are less than many places. I generally leave a $50 deposit. Other hotels might ask for $100 - $150.

Why don't you call around if you're not using priceline, like many of us do? Again, I use priceline and with just a couple of exceptions over the years, have ALWAYS used cash as a deposit.

And I'm a hotel snob. So the star count isn't relevant.

Hope this helps some.
