Look up some articles from a guy named Eric Jon Phelps. He wrote a book titled "All Roads Lead To Rome" He mentions some interesting things about the Vatican and our politics in that book.

I'm not sure I understand the outrage. He leads a religious denomination. They aren't making political policy. It's no different than the religious fundamentals and what they're doing in the US, except they would love to affect political change based on their religious beliefs.

Why would he be surprised by any of that? You don't think equality for all citizens is a good thing? And as for Cuba, things like that have been done since time immemorial.
