The Place Beyond the Pines 🌲

I went to see this film last night. It was all filmed on location in Schenectady, about three summers ago. It stars Ryan Gosling, Eva Mendes, and Ray Liotta.
It was definitely cool to recognize all the places that were filmed. There were too many stories going on in this movie, and in my opinion none of them seem to really go anywhere. It was beautifully filmed though. And even now I kind of left feeling "Well what was that supposed to be about?" I still thought it was pretty good. Maybe that's just because it was filmed here, lol!

I had heard something to that affect. I don't know if he was here or not. I have yet to see Drive.
It was great that they used areas like Washout Road off of 5. That was one of the back routes home I would take from Albany.
You will definitely recognize everywhere that was filmed, if you're familiar with Schenectady.

That was where I went to see it.
I don't believe there were any cast members in attendance though, LOL!

The first 45 mins were the best.
How many stars would you rate this one AB?

Honestly, as much as I thought they went overboard on the story, i still thought it was good. Like I said before, my opinion may be biased. I would say 3 out of 5.
It did keep me on the edge of my seat, and entertained for two and half hours.
It gets good reviews from both critics and viewers on rotten tomatoes.

2 and a half? Jeez. I'll still check it out though... Thanks

The news channels had interviews with him being out there. I lived in schenectady for 8 years not really too interesting besides proctors and GE. I havent seen the movie but everything I have heard from friends that have, they say it is not worth it.

I wouldn't say it's not worth it. If you're from the area I would go see it just for that reason. They just tried to do too much in one movie.

They don't paint a very flattering picture of Upstater's, but they do make Schenectady, look much nicer then it actually is.

By the way, I think it's total BS I wasn't invited to the Premiere Party!
