THE BEST!!! and THE WORST!!!

OK, guys...and gals:

What do you like (love) most about this life?

What do you dislike (hate) most about this life?

If you could change one (or two) thing/s about this life, what would it be?
Not trying to sound like Bill Clinton, but what do you mean by "this life"?

Are you talking about hobbying?

Yes, hobbying. [Insert other sarcasm. I did so, but decided not to post it.]
I think the fact that I have a little secret is exciting. I have met some really nice people and am having a blast while doubling my income.

I think the worst part is the screening. Fortunately, I have only met less than a handfull of assholes.

The best thing about hobbying is the women I've met. Sure, the sex is often really great, but it isn't what I think about three days later when I think about the woman. Instead, I'm thinking about what I learned from her, and what a great person she is.

I've discovered providers out there who, even though they charge for a visit, aren't really obsessed with the money. It really is all about the interpersonal, and the money is just a facilitator for the lifestyle that enables it. And bookings usually result in discovering a lot of shared interests and more. On top of that, it is rare that a session with an escort doesn't yield something really interesting completely unrelated to the hobby. These are some great women.

The worst thing about hobbying? I know some people won't be pleased about the relation of what I'm about to say to stereotypes; but I am referring to actual experiences rather than stereotypes. For all I know my (thankfully rare) encounters of this sort are the only ones of that sort that have ever happened.

The worst thing about hobbying is walking into an incall and finding that the woman who kept her appointment with you really shouldn't have because she was beaten or otherwise physically abused by a prior client. She SHOULD have been at the police station filing a complaint on the person.

What I would change?
I would want there to be a mechanism such that providers felt they had equal access to justice for crimes of violence.

As honorary mention, I'll give the second thing I don't like in the hobby -- though it is so far in second place that it is inconsequential compared to the first thing.

I don't like providers faking orgasms. I've had three providers do this on me over time.

I can literally always tell. Hey, I know a lot more about sex than you'd suspect. I'm not the average guy in some ways. If you think you can fool me you are 95% likely to be wrong. So it always sort of throws me off because I notice it. (Though I never point it out.)

Second, and this is what really bugs me, is that it tells me that the provider has evaluated me as someone who would benefit from her faking the orgasm. The woman's intentions are good I am sure; but it tells me that she thinks I need an artificial ego boost; which therefore gives her faking a paradoxical effect; because I need nothing artificial.

I'd rather a lady just honestly say "it's not gonna work." It won't hurt my feelings.
@L

Damn! Your posts are always so well thought out and insightful.
Faking is stupid, I want the real thing!!!!!!
I am sure my answers are pretty much going to fall along the same lines as most.

What I really enjoy about this lifetyle is meeting new people, learning about them, touching them, feel intimacy, learning new things, and the spending money that is mine, and mine alone, and I can spend it how I want.
My SO is not a very intimate person. Due to his upbringing, there is limited touching outside of sex, which means no cuddle time, and limited kissing. That is something I do not get at home, and I crave it, so the Hobby is my outlet for that.

What I do not like...like most, I do not like the fact that we are walking the line with LE. I do not mind the screening, it helps me to learn a bit about the gentlemen before I meet them, I would still screen even if we were not walking the line. Also, I would like for this hobby to be regulated, and have healthcare not just made available, but to be made mandatory.

The best...

Meeting the truly wonderful people here in this community of ours.

The worst...

Discovering how juvenile and petty some, who refer to themselves as adults, are.

ditto with Heidi & tiffany

the screening process is the biggest bitch..but the most necessary!!
{the guys can make it a little easier by contacting their reference and refreshing her memory before he requests an appt}

the best part is the wILD SEX...lol!!!
no seriously the best parts are the wild sex...the anticipation and excitement of before/during/& after a date....the ""friendship" with my repeat clients....the friendship with other providers...the conversations I carry on thru this board..and of course the money is also GREAT{lol} and allows me to live quite nicely{I now own 25 pairs of shoes...lol}

great post Charles!!

The Best: The ability to explore, experiment and push boundaries with a variety of partners.

The Worst: Honestly, paying for it I really wished I could meet the many providers I have been with in the civie world.

What I'd change: Legalize or decriminalize

Best? People I have met and ability to explore myself. Guess not different from what others said .. so I won't elaborate

Worst? Severe impact this lifestyle has on my personal life. First of all, when I meet people in civvie life, I do not go "oh and by the way I am also Sensual Lina The Modern Courtesan". At certain moment, you begin thinking .. should I call Jerry Springer show for one of those "I been keeping a secret" shows

Second, being a profession seductress and companion has its perks. Perk number one - we do not have to rely on attentions of ONE person. So email from one, IM from another and text from third result in a lot of attention from opposite sex. Compared to this attention given by one person, especially very early in relationship, can seem like vacuum.

Another perk is the way we are treated. Sure, there are occasional insulting email, stupid calls, and tough to screen people who pretend to be 007.

But in absolute majority of cases, gentlemen we see behave as Gentlemen should. Walk into a world of civvie dating .. and all of a sudden we have to face world of "hey, men and women are equal, open your own damn door".

It is ironic, but today escorts get more respects from their clients than "regular" women from their dates.

I dislike most about this life is the paranoias of running into the "wrong people" (whether those are representatives of a misunderstanding legal system, criminals and con artists who prey on companions, or any spectrum of crazy people). I dislike being dishonest with my doctor, accountant, and other professional help. I don't mind glossing over to prevent conflict and making others uncomfortable- but when someone is directly affecting my personal health/finances - I'd like the freedom to be honest about what I do.

If I could change one thing about "this life"... I wish I could make American culture view relationships & sex as health issues (i.e., with goals of preventing domestic violence and contagious diseases). I wish to keep the government and the religious beliefs of others out of MY bedroom.
