Exact Reason I Hate Outcalls

CarlaHollandStrange's Avatar
A week ago a guy started PMing me saying that he was coming in and was staying at the Omni in Ft Worth, I finally agree even knowing I would make more money just staying in and doing incall... but I needed a night out. Well I told him I was going to get nails done and a new dress for the occation. He literally emailed me one hour after he knew I had left and cancelled. Who does that? Now sitting here in new outfit and no place to go....Karma is a bitch

we feel the same way.. we go to an incall, which is the same as you doing an outcall.. shower, shave, prepare... Hell, sometimes we get there and communication goes dead.. at least you got an hour's heads up.

It goes both ways. For every time that happens to a provider, some guy gets a call or text on his way to, or when he's arrived at, some provider's incall. She got sick, the kids got sick, her mom got sick, her kids and mom got sick, she forgot she had a nail appointment, her car broke down, her car broke down while taking her kids and mom to the doctor, she missed the bus from Shreveport, she overslept, she overslept on the bus from Shreveport and woke up in El Paso, the boyfriend came home, she had to go to the dentist, her garage door got stuck (the last two are from personal experience) ... I could go on and on and on and on and ....

Sometimes, on both sides, there's a legitimate reason, so it's best to just accept that it happens move on. Either he'll apologize and offer to make it up to you, or he won't. You'll either forgive him, put him on your personal blacklist, or tell every provider from here to Prague that he's an asshole.

My advice, which you didn't ask for, would be to try to figure out ways to minimize the number of times things like this happen. I don't know what those ways would be, but it's a more positive direction to steer your brain.

In the meantime, if you're all dolled up, hit the town!
You should feel lucky he let you know he was canceling at all. Us guys sometimes don't get that luxury, even after we've showed up to the incall. You only went to the salon.

Wondering why you would go out of your way for a random outcall but your incall clients don't get the same treatment. Also, if that guy canceled for a legitimate reason and had intentions to book with you in the future, I can assure you this post just changed his mind. In fact, you probably lost more than just him in potential clients. Your inclination to complain publicly about a minor frustration just makes me want to avoid you.

For what it's worth, you're not alone. Most everyone on both sides of the business have this happen. While the guys are frustrated, they still have your money, so financially it's worse for providers.

My lesson early on, was a scheduled double I was really excited about (my first) and ON MY way across Dallas I got a terse text - "Had an accident, can't make it". I was pissed. I ASSumed I was getting discarded like yesterday's condoms. Fast forward 2 weeks and she's begging me to come see her as she hasn't been able to work since the accident.

I showed up - she was still badly bruised and had a big-ass set of metal rods and pins holding her arm together.

Ever since I don't question the excuse, shit does happen, and I never want to suffer the awful guilt I felt that day again.

At least you didn't take an expensive ED med before realizing nothing was going to happen.

carla, sorry you got canceled on.
even throwing out all the prep you did, still sucks you got canceled on (cos all that doesnt usually come into play for the canceler).

hope you were able to have a nice evening out!

for readers of the thread (not directed at carla) ...
some lessons that might be gleaned from this - a) agree upon the best communication channel prior to the appt and b) set a cancelling timeline.
thiscwont stop ever canceling or ncns, but better to have a framework than just winging it.
