A Democratic "All-in" Texas Strategy.. Why Not ?

The leader of Baltimore must be as corrupt as Trump.
Trump had no crisis as bad as the financial crisis that Bush left Obama
Trump has had a cake walk of a Presidency...and has basically accomplished nothing of note....except talking his ass off about what a great job he is doing....and putting down enemies (real and imagined)
Obama ..if he could have been eligible...would have easily won a third term. Same with Clinton last century. Instead we had the two most slimy candidates in history. A shame they couldn't both lose.

Americans like to root for the underdog..I do when I turn on a Football game in the third quarter (and don't care for either team)...Trump was the underdog in 2016...up against an arrogant(but qualified) opponent. She won the debates and was smug about it. She acted like She deserved to be President.

Trump is top dog now...acts arrogant as hell (You have no choice but to vote for me!!) Has no respect for his base ( I could shoot a guy on 5th avenue).... His rallies are more about him receiving the adulation of his fans than anything else.

Texas is definitely purpling. Already a number of Repubs are not seeking re-election to the House. The State House speaker is in deep shit, and people are sick of the stream of bullshit involving the border.

Why do you deny the Trump may have his odd little hands full down here?

Just love getting a lesson in Texas politics from the Pittsburgh professors..
for dims to have a chance in texas all depends on the dim candidate

even if theres two of her, not a chance

someone like joe manchin (even though he's not running), then maybe

The other 9 ascended due to death or again with Nixon, resignation of the POTUS.

Doesn't necessarily add anything to Biden's chances based on historical perspective.

Trump won Texas by 9% in 2016. He will win Texas again in 2020 but I predict it will be less than 9%. Probably less than 5%.

Hardly. Texas women are not pro-abortion on demand. It has nothing to do with racism. Originally Posted by gnadfly

Agreed...I know many with that perspective...They hold their noses at his dumbfuckery and stupid tweets...but they back him up due to this one aspect of his platform. Originally Posted by matchingmole

In my district, John Carter's margin of victory was less than 3%, a district he had won by double digits in previous campaigns.

The state is no longer solid red. It now leans red. How red it will be in 2020 is up in the air right now but I stand by my prediction. I also believe that Texas Republicans will lose additional House seats in 2020.
I think Texas has a chance in 2020.. enough to fight for it. if I were betting, I would say no.. only a Dumb Fuck would put money on the Democrats winning Texas next year. but it is not a ridiculous notion. Originally Posted by Chung Tran

you are quite the contradiction, aren't ya? you seem to blame the Republicans for ... everything. yet when your Dems "selected" i.e. rigged it for Clinton you when over to the "dark side" and voted for Trump. Now you insist that the Democrats will defeat Trump.

which Democrat? i don't think you think "anyone can defeat Trump" as some here think. that's wishful thinking on their part. or worse .. just plain hate mongering.

for now Biden is the leader of a rabble in which most have zero chance against Trump. your early fav Harris is fading away. Beto never had a chance to begin with. what's the kiss of death to a campaign? "Reset". he's on what .. two resets now? he was done before the first one.

Bernie the Socialist? no way. at least he's up front about it. Warren? nope. almost as radical as Bernie and twice as stupid. Ying Yang?

that leaves gaffe reel joe and we both know what will happen when he debates Trump. people deride Trump as stupid yet he continues to show he is quick witted in a live debate, something slow joe is not.

here's two things that factor in elections for President ... people vote with their wallet and are you better off now than you were?

Trump has both of those covered. Originally Posted by The_Waco_Kid
