Dallas Restaurants

bigclitluvr's Avatar
I have been checking out Dallas ECCIE, because I'm coming for a week! I can not get over the provider selection here! Looking forward to meeting some of the ladies!

I need recommendations on some good Restaurants in downtown Dallas! Prefer steak, but open to other suggestions!
Thanks

Two areas convenient to downtown:

The West End, kinda touristy, The Palm is good.

McKinney Avenue/Uptown, north of downtown. Too many to name, endless choices.

Do you want to go to a chain restaurant or independent? When I asked a similar question in the Austin forum, I was provided several recommendations and some of the steakhouses (e.g., Eddie V) have locations in Dallas.

Don't have anything against chains like Morton's, Ruth Chris's, etc...but would like to experience local, not something I can get back home.

Charlie Palmer just converted to a steak format. Should be very good.

If you get a chance, the best BBQ (for lunch only) is Pecan Lodge. It's only open Thu-Sun 11-3, but it's the best bbq in town right now. You said you wanted something local and great and it fits the bill. It's just a lunch place and they don't serve alcohol.

They are located in Shed 2 of the Farmers Market.

I went the other day at 11:30 and by noon the line was at least 50 people deep, but nobody gets out of line
