The only thing about it that has really changed in all of History is the means to make contact between the participants. Unless humans get so scared of contact that they live in complete isolation and die off, sex and sex work will exist.

Interesting article. Wonder what all it would take to make all of it actually legal. Seems like other than the bible thumpers, the only other reason it is not legal is because the IRS has not figured out how to properly tax it. The government always wants its cut.

It will not become legal our lifetime but what’s interesting is that it is legal in 6-7 counties in Nevada but it is considerably more profitable (some estimate 65% more profitable) in counties where it is illegal in Nevada. I’m not sure how these statistics were calculated given the overhead, licensure and taxes associated with a brothel but it seems that lots of folks prefer illegal prostitution in Nevada even when they have a legal option.
