I love me some DATY, but I am not sure about the safety issues that could come up if unprotected.

Herpes is the only listed risk here, and they say it's rare.

Whether it be with a provider or with a swing partner -- I use no protection with DATY. From everything I've read on the subject, catching a disease during oral sex is not impossible but close to it.

Diving in is one option.
Easing in may be less painful, startling, eager.
