New thread about race

Ok, its not a controversial thread like you thought, but I caught ur attention!

When it was SuperBowl time in Dallas, I read many posts about how the SuperBowl incoming crowd would affecte hobbying, but no mention as to NASCAR. The Samsung 500 RACE is April 9th, and Texas Motor Speedway has a capacity to seat 191,000 people.

Do we get more providers in DFW, or do the hotel booking issues scare providers away?

Well I gotta say you got me to open it up. But I do like Nascar.
I usually skip town during events.

However Nascar seems interesting. Never been to a race before.

NASCAR sucks. Whoa they are going around in a circle. Two hours later. Whoa they are going around in a circle. People pass each other on 635, some times with more of a hazard. If it wasn't for the crashes i would go comatose.
I like the crashes.

I prefer road racing than oval.

Two wheels are more exciting, to me, than four.

The Isle of Man is, for me, the most exciting racing, period. These blokes are bloody brave, fast, stunning.

Dig the way the guy narrates this stuff.

Maybe some Mahavishnu Orchestra for background music.

Yeah, I'm not much into NASCAR myself, but quite a few of my friends love watching all the left turns. I understand the party is the true attraction of a NASCAR event. If you can get into the infield, that is focal point for all the action. I hear it is like a mini Mardi Gras type atmosphere. I might be down for that. . .

lisa, the atmosphere at the nascar race is pretty awesome as Sandman posted. The ladies there do get pretty wild, that is why I wonder how it affects hobby.
there are a lot of people coming in, but a lot of attention is given to the race related activities.

One of my best memories was up near Grand Rapids Michigan running the road track. Farking hairpin never got me and I never crashed even once but that video brought back some killer memories.

Thanks!

As for the issue of whether the race brings in more escorts, back on ASPD, TheRealJohnnyRingo made a comment or 2 about how the baseball guys had hourly help and there were various ways for them to find P4P opportunies. So I'd bet that the drivers who come to town might also be inclined to partake in the bountiful ladies plying their trade in the DFW area.
