LADIES HAS THIS HAPPENED TO YOU WITH A CLIENT? @_@

Hi ladies,

I was wondering has this situation ever happened to anyone before?

I recieved a call from a seemingly nice gentleman and he was asking for overnight rate at about 10pm. However the method of his gift was through wire to my bank acct or western union. Now he did not have a issue with the 3500 that was requested however, when I informed him that credit cards are accepted he replied that he didn't want that kind of inquiry on his business account!
My question is how do you ladies handle large gifts when traveling? This has happened to me a few times.

(Since he didn't have access to the gift he stopped by the next day for the full day as a show of good faith for the next time I stop through his city)

Just so I understand exactly what you are saying & asking:

1. you charge $3500 for a 24 hour period
2. This client had the money to wire you
3. You declined the wired money (i assume so he didn't have your bank account information)
4. You do however accept credit cards for your fees
5. This client declined to use his company issued cc, because he was concerned about "offering an explanation to his accounting department for the charge (I wished I could have read that report)
6. The appointment didn't happen, but a all day visit did occur so that both parties will feel comfortable for the next time you see each other, with no fee for your time required
7. You are asking the questions: has this scenario happened to other providers and what advise would folks give about accepting large fees when they are on the road visiting other cities?

I guess my first response is if the client had the monies to wire you, then why didn't he just bring cash?

I like western union for deposits better than any other option. If I am gonna do a deposit this is the option I would take. Giving out routing numbers is just to risky.....to close for comfort. A name that western union requires works out better for me.

I think a name that is valid is an even trade for being paid upfront. Another reason I like this option is if she can't make it for whatever reason she can send it right back to me.

Now there is a limit to how much you can send though I think. You can only send money in increments of 999.99 dollars at a time. Sending those frequently in small amounts is suspect and watchable. If I am sending a deposit it won't be over 900 at anytime anyways.......

I wouldn't use a credit card. Just even knowing a particular provider has that payment option availiable will insure when the appointment takes place my credit card will be no where within her view. Seems too suspect.

Odd the "client" didn't know about the limit.

A deposit via Western Union followed by the balance in cash. If you don't feel comfortable holding onto the cash, then ask them to hold in the safe at front desk or drop it in an ATM.

But again, longer appointments require a certain amount of trust.

Some viable options could be something like a PayPal account or pre-loaded Debit card. I don't know about you. But I personally get a bit paranoid if I happen to be carrying more than $500.00 cash on my person for any reason. But apparently this client feels differently than I do and has considerably more means at his disposal (especially if he voluntarily offered to give you over triple the quoted rate).

However I just found out that green dot has a card that you can load way over 500 which normally is the standard.. In my real life I have a beauty business & we accept cc just as any store would. Maybe hobbyist should get the black green dot card and use that just for the hobby & a provider that has they same us just accepting a money pak. "Gotta check the limit on the money pak". This can eliminated advance payment and will ease both parties! Well thanks for the suggestion.
