MAN-icures/Pedicures?

My question is for the men. Do you get regular manicures and/or pedicures? With many companies popping up geared towards men's personal grooming like:

John Allan's http://johnallans.com/

The Boardroom http://boardroomsalon5.reachlocal.net/

and

Hammer and Nails http://www.hammerandnails-salon.com/

Do you prefer a more manly setting? Or will any nail salon do?

Personally, I love a well groomed man.
How many get professionally shaved by a barber?

Oh yeah, and don't forget your shoe shine.
Yes...manicures and pedicures usually every two or three weeks max and a facial once per month.

I used to get a straight razor shave at The Art of Shave (Dallas Galleria) once a month but Texas outlawed straight razor shaves due to complaints and poor cleaning of razors. Not at The Art of Shave but at the traditional barber shops...

Now it isn't worth it to go and get shaved because all they use is the same type of traditional shaver you can purchase at a drug store...
I got my first pedicure last week and my feet feel so soft I am definitely hooked. My arthritis god so bad I couldn't do it my self.
The only pedicure that I've ever had was when I was spending the day with a lady friend for her birthday. She wanted a pedicure but wouldn't do it unless I did it with her.

So we went to her nail salon and had it done. My feet are very sensitive so it wasn't all that big a thrill for me, but it was very interesting and my feet WERE much softer afterwards. The whole process was a lot more involved than I ever expected for it to be.

I do try to keep things trimmed, but I do it myself. I probably wouldn't have another pedicure unless it was a similar situation to the one described above.

I was always of the opinion of mani/pedis were only for women. Lived a longgg time without ever getting one. My dumb ass was "WRONG"! My loss after all of those years without getting them.

After wife passed a few years ago some close friends got me a xmas present of pedi. I felt obliged to use it and to my surprise, damn it was outta this world. It was not better than sex but wonderful. The hot wax and hot rocks and hot towels and no more ingrown toenails. Hands and feet look and feel so much better than before and of course the girls take so good care of me. Did I say I was a dumbass..yes I was.

Only thing I regret is I didn't start doing them much sooner. I missed out on so much pleasure and relaxation for some many years but no more. That is one thing I will enjoy for as long as I can, even after other things may quit working.

Yup, mani-pedi time happens for me too. Nice way to relax. Also good to do if your fingers are going to be in sensitive places.

I have noticed the super hearing too. I used to think they were whispering to me, then someone far away would answer.

Yep, Mani/pedi every 2 weeks and have been doing it for decades. Haven't yet been to a male salon, only because they aren't as prevalent as regular nail spas. I used to speak a little Vietnamese so I catch a word or phrase from time to time. I've always wonder if they are talking about my feet/nails, like "Oh you should see the ugly feet this guys has!" And then there are the rare occasions that some hot, young Asian girl will be the one doing my nails. One of my best friends met his wife at a nail spa while she did his nails.
Yep - every couple of weeks for mani-pedis but i don't go to the manly places. Frankly, the nicer regular places are better than the chains that cater to men. My daughter actually got me started when we were at JFK on a layover years ago and now its a father-daughter thing before she leaves town for us to go do to signature mani-pedis. Women have the self-care thing down a lot better than me but I am learning!
I wouldn't mind a regular pedi, mainly because it's harder to do good foot maintenance the older one gets.

I love them, and I sometimes treat myself to a spa week of mani/pedi's, waxing of body and after the stinging goes away, a great B2B massage with a complete happy ending.

Had my first pedi this year and have gone back twice more. It is a Vietnamese salon in town and they take great care of me. Didn't know what I was missing...now use a pedi as a treat. My daughter laughs at me and accuses me of the household estrogen having gotten into my blood. LOL.
