The side entrance is fairly open to the street as well but I don't see any concerns around entering/exiting from the front. I park in the side lot and enter in the front (morning monger) and then pop over to the diner for breakfast (2nd meal of the morning).

In the warmer months, the side door is open and the gals are hanging out there checking out the people walking/driving by.
