Attention we do not need.

Why don't we need that? That's awesome advertising! They didn't connect anything here with anything illegal, they just threw the name out there. Outstanding job. Thanks CBS!

If you aren't in the hobby you've probably never heard of eccie. Our SO's are not in the hobby, well except WU's, and keeping the very existance of this site off the news where our SO's can become aware of it is the issue. That is the attention we don't need... not the artice itself, the awareness in each of our homes about this site.
Sounds like you have financial interest in this site WU, why would anyone give a shit about advertising? Only the Hooktards will benefit by increasing rates to meet increased demand.

Wait...some of you are saying that your SO's knowing about this site, when they have no idea that you are a member of it right now, is dangerous to you? Explain please...

And yes...I have a vested financial interest in this site...

What I found interesting is this:
"According to the Secretary of State’s website, the company dissolved last September. But information the CBS 11 I-Team uncovered shows ************* has ownership of the domain name till March 2014."

"For weeks, we’ve tried to get a hold of the current owners of eccie.net. We even talked to a previous owner, but no one ever took ownership of the site."

If I understand this correctly (will research the net info later) but Eccie has no owner and the site registration is up for grabs?

Olivia you crack me up! And no all advertising is not good but not fearful as some say this does get press from time to time and LE is always watching. It goes on and so do we!

If there are people here who really concerned about their SO finding out about their membership on ECCIE - use Google Chrome and when you want to log on use Chrome's Incognito function. It'd be that easy.
If they are stupid enough to allow an auto-complete on Eccie website, they deserve to be caught.

If someone is stupid enough to use the same user name from other websites/email that their SO knows about and would recognize, they also deserve to be caught.

If the SO is to the point that she is going to suspect and research based on a random news article, she has probably already googled up/is searching your shit the way it is, and you are getting caught regardless.

Also, I agree with Wakeup that advertising is useful. Brings in more people, which in turn causes ECCIE to become a more viable and attractive website for providers to use, which in turn provides more reviews, more options and more competitive rates for everyone. Plus survival of the site due to ad revenue.

If you are going to use a board for this sort of activity, you may as well make it as useful as possible.
