RIP: Mean Gene Kelton

While I was getting dressed for work this morning, I heard about the accident last night in Crosby involving a school bus. I didn't know until later today, that it was Gene Kelton that did not survive his injuries.

Being a musician, I had the pleasure of jamming with Gene a couple times over the years. I talked with him at a festival this past July 4th that he was attending with his wife.
Gene will be missed.

Prayers for his wife, children and his mother are appreciated.

And prayers for the busload of people he hit head-on while trying to pass another vehicle. None of them died, thankfully.

Gene was a long time friend of my family and will be greatly missed. Prayers are out to everyone involved in this accident.

I've known Gene for many years. It's so sad to see such a nice guy snatched away in the prime of his life. Even sadder, he still owes me a drink. Rest in peace buddy...
