What are your thoughts on deposits?

I require deposits for tours and incall(I don't keep one). On tours, a lot of guys wait to see if I make it to their city before they book and I always tell them my deposit guys get priority booking. That second trip, they pay the deposit. A deposit is easier to get than a cancellation fee. And there have been cases where ladies have traveled after receiving deposits only to have the guys dispute it later and the lady loses out.

Should be no worries if the lady is reputable and known. Because we are not going to tank years of reputation on a percentage.
That's another...if they see you are set to leave and ask you to extend your tour/stay just for their date. Pre-Corona most hotel chains won't refund you if you cancel with less than a 48hrs notice but even now most still require 24hrs+ notice in order for you to get that $ back. Typically I fly when touring so one might have to pay to change their flight depart date too. Originally Posted by MOCHAakaMOCHA

I never thought about it in a situation like this, very good point. You would think that they would be considerate enough of providers time & money to let you know they are canceling instead of going silent & being stood up. It’s definitely something to think about for me anyway.

I've heard of enough ladies flying cross country or traveling hours (train, driving etc) just to be stood up and by guys they screened pretty well at that (because when a girl reports that the first thing people ask them is if they screened them well (some they've even seen several times before)). Crazy thing to do all of that for someone to go silent when they arrive. That's a life i'm not about.

I really only require some kind of deposit if i'm blocking off a significant amount of time for someone (3hrs+) or if i'm traveling what I consider to be a significant amount of time to see them (1hr+ travel time one-way (2hrs+ roundtrip travel)). Originally Posted by MOCHAakaMOCHA

The same thing can happen if you're not traveling honestly because you deny others because you have such a long appointment for that person just to cancel

Somevguys don't like deposits but I can completely see why girls do them

I remember one time a guy was arguing with me because he doesn't think girls should charge more when they travel. I told him that doesn't make any sense because any business that travels charges a travel fee . And he just thought it was inflation and unnecessary. I told him typically when I go To a place I spnd about $1,000 on travel and accommodations and he told me my math was off when a lot of my flights alone round trip are $600 or more so I would definitely hit the thousand-dollar mark once I had it in the hotel room.

that's a lot of money to not make the difference up by not raising your prices to travel or to lose because someone cancels

I can see that the concept of taking deposits and pre-booking before traveling to a far-away city makes sense from the business perspective of the provider. That is the only positive thing I can say.

The risk to the hobbyist that the deposit will just evaporate in a no-show is significant in mu opinion.

That the transfer of funds must involve an electronic trail presents a risk to both parties. A good prosecutor can make an open and shut case for prostitution based on a documented commitment to pay for a sex act followed by an actual exchange of money.

Makes a perfice set up for a sting . . .again in my opinion.

Not to be funny but when I was agreeing with the other girls about how deposits could be a good thing I am definitely not talking about those girls on stg/back page type charging deposits

I am only talking about very reputable girls that have reviews and a reputation for being professional. The girls that wouldn't want to hurt their business pulling a scam

I see how the deposits can be risky but I am only agreeing that they would be a good thing if you're seeing someone highly reputable I would never tell a guy to just give anyone a deposit that would be extremely silly

No and fuck no!!!
I have been hobbying for several years in various states and countries. I have provided deposits when asked (only when I am asking them to come to me) and the provider has a positive presence on this site and other sites as well. I get why its done. A few bad apples....

However, the bad apples are not just found in the hobbyist area but in the provider area as well. I have been burned on a few occasions but I don't know any other way around it.

When I'm burned I try to note it on the boards for others to know. When I have a good time and all went well I note that too. I hope someone reads my posts and can then take the appropriate informed actions.

I am mostly seeing local escorts and have never been asked to pay a deposit. Once a provider I had never seen before, met me in front of the motel before she went in to get the room. Guess she wanted to be sure I showed up before she got the room. She came back and asked for a prepayment since her credit card was declined. I gave her what she asked for. She got the room, and texted me the room number shortly after.
Another thing is that hotel prices vary with season and even day of the week. So sometimes a provider will ask for a higher donation than other times to cover their expenses. A few times, I have been asked to get the room, or split the cost, because I am their only date.

Bingo, thank you for pointing this out. Think about being on the stand in court trying to explain why you sent a known escort money for other reasons than Prostitution.

How do you feel about getting the room or splitting the cost since your the only date?
