HoteLumiere Suites and Casino
I plan to be in St. Louis Nov 29 & 30 for the Raiders game. What can you tell me about HoteLumiere Suites and Casino? How are the games? Security? Food? Atmosphere? I wanted something close to the Dome.
They are a clean place and the security is good. I have never stayed there but imagine the rooms are really nice. Parking can be an issue as well as security to and from if you don't park on their lot. The landing has always had an issue with gangs and undesirables. It is a lot like hobbying, be sensible and do your research and don't take risks.
They have a nice selection of games if that is what you were asking, table, poker and slots. ALL gaming is regulated so for someone to say that they do better at a particular place is their perception.
I also have never eaten there, someone else will have to weigh in. Casino food is generally above average and I think Lumiere has a great upscale restaurant! I'm sure they have a website that can answer many questions.
Good luck in gambling and hobbying, not so much if you are a Raiders fan, that day at least!
Well the Rams may be our only hope for a win this year. I'm fearing 0-16.
Thanks for the info. I'm a roulette & blackjack fan, so that should be some fun. Is the casino 24/7 like Vegas? I've never gambled outside of Vegas so I'm not sure of local rules. I looked on their website & not much info on the casino itself. Really not much info at all. It was close to the Dome, so I chose it. I hope to leave my car at the casino & walk to the game. Why pay twice for parking.
I've never stayed there so can't tell you about the rooms. Although, I would expect them to be nice since it's a nice casino and hotel. The casino is 24/7 but you do have to pay for cocktails. Soda, coffee and bottle water are free. They do have a great sushi restaurant if you like sushi. Not sure about the other food options.
For security reasons I would suggest valet parking. Not sure about walking to the game, for the same security reasons. You might want to consider taking a cab. Just not the best area to be walking around in, imo.
Hope this helps!
Let me know please what it's like
Thanks
Spent the weekend there; game stunk, or I should say the Raiders stunk.
The hotel was very nice. Rooms are large, with a separate living room area & bedroom. Bedroom had a door to block out the hallway noise. There's a lot of space to move around. Stay away from the mini-fridge. If you pick up an item for more than 30 sec, you're charged for that item. One review said if you open the door for 30 sec, the charge applies. I didn't test it. Room was clean & well maintained.
I ate room service once. Menu is limited for room service, but service was fast & food was fresh & tasty. There are restaurants near the casino.
Played the casino a little before the game. It's a short walk from the lobby to the casino outdoors. Or a little longer from your room indoors along the walkway.
I'm confused about the parking. It's an outdoor lot with security. If you have heavy or a lot of bags, you may want to unload 1st, then park. There is a security person in a booth at the gate. She let me in, but didn't give me a ticket. There was also constant security driving through the lot. I parked & went in & registered. Stayed Sat. night & Sunday till after the game. Went to my car, got in & drove out. Security never asked for a ticket or fee. So parking was free? Online they said it was $10.00 a day. Not sure what happened, but I don't wasn't to see an exorbitant parking on my statement.
No problems walking around. You can walk from the hotel, through the casino, out the Four Seasons, and right across the street to the stadium, a 10 minute walk. As for as going on the landing, it's only blocks away. I looked down the street around 11p & didn't see much of anything happening. So I didn't walk around the landing, but I didn't see much going on either.
All in all I really enjoyed it (except the game itself). Only lost $26.00 gambling, great location at a reasonable price ($150+) for the comfort & ease. Two caveats though. 1. If you plan to have guests, don't stay on the 1st floor. The 1st floor rooms open onto the bar/lounge/general area. It is nice, with a beautiful waterfall, but may attract attention. 2. You need a key to use the elevator. You'd have to meet your guest downstairs & bring them up. Past the lobby they have a large bar/lounge/general area. It's a nice place to meet w/o the desk staff noticing.
I have never stayed there but I did visit the landing quite a bit, I love it. I park in lumiere parking lot. Its free and has great security. Then walk through the casino towards Johnny B's pizza. Its amazing on the corner and has all the different drinks written up on the walls. Its a fun place to start and the pizza is some of the best, I then usually go to the brewery (cant remember the name rite now) but the beer is good and made on site and they have everything from a restaurant, to pool tables, to bar, to night club, the place is huge. I also like to go to Big daddy's for their bucket mixed drinks if your still in the mood. after the night ends I always go back to Lumiere and hit some table games. I know you said your going for a football game but I figured Id add my input on my experience with lumiere and the landing in case you were also looking. ALSO if you do want to save money go on priceline and name your own price on the arch area 4 star hotel, you can get a hotel room at the Hyatt for about 30$ Ive done it a couple of times and the concierge basically told me they were the only ones that participated in the priceline deal and its a steal (I don't know if he was supposed to say that lol)
Hope this helps Have fun!
lol well sorry for a late reply I just noticed you already visited Ill just keep this up for anyone else that is looking
Wow, thanks for the tip! I'll be viting St Louis for the first time next month, and I love casinos! It would be great to catch some table action during my stay.
