I'm going to be in Rochester soon. I'm sick of uber eats. Is there any place that you can recommend for an above average meal? I don't want a garbage plate lol
Maybe a great Italian spot or a steakhouse?

I haven't been to camp's in years. Gotta stop in for a steak
bomber
Italian on the westside, Papa Joes or Pasta Villa. Eastside; Perlos or The Northside Inn. Steak, Black & Blue.
Calabresella's (Buffalo Road) has the best subs in town
Mamma G's has good authentic Italian
Taste of Japan has good sushi, but either get takeout or prepare for a lengthy dine-in experience because there's a single chef but he's very good.
For prime rib, Red Osier is very good, but it's a bit of a haul (between Leroy and Batavia)
Thali of India has very good Indian food
Coco Garden has authentic Malaysian food among other cuisines
Texas de Brazil is an interesting Brazilian steakhouse (churrascaria)
Best "plate" around is at Charlie Riedel's (Empire Blvd)

Black and Blue is very good for steak and seafood
Char is also very good
Pane Vino on the river

Anything close to U of Rochester? I've got an SA intro date with a student from there and don't want to have her drive too far away from campus.

Rochester has a great selection of family owned Italian restaurants. Wherever you decide to go, ask to have your pasta cooked al dente.

Here are a few that I like:

Pasta Villa in Irondequoit
Proietti's in Webster
Brook House on Elmridge Center Dr.
Agatina's on Buffalo Rd.
