Not sure about guilt/innocence . . . but the Prosecutor and Judge appear to be seriously funny!

He seems to be the control freak type, insecure and prone to rages.
He and his girlfriend were probably having a heated argument,
and she locked herself in the bathroom. When she wouldn't
open the door he most likely went into a rage and shot through
the door.

Hard to understand, but the door is what caused him to do it.
The combination of being barred from access, and the fact that
he couldn't see her face to face. It was an odd cowardly act.
And I'm sure he regretted his actions immediately after he
opened the door.

I don't think he would have ever shot her face to face.

I think it is a much less likely story that he actually thought
he was shooting an intruder.

The only other possibility I can see is that he was planning
on shooting her, and picked that opportunity so he could
use the intruder motive. But even that is possible.
Crime of passion? That's what I suspected from day one. That said, I just don't understand how a "sane" person can plan the murder of a loved one and believe for one second he (or she) might actually get away with it....that (looking ahead) a judge and jury would buy the notion "he thought it was an intruder" and that before pulling the trigger of that gun, he'd 100% ruled out the possibility it was his girlfriend.

I thought this case was pretty cut and dried from Day One....these two were having issues / not getting along, he couldn't stand the thought of her leaving him (and eventually being with another man) and his emotions basically got the best of him (ie: if he couldn't have her, well by God, no one would....)

Maybe in the end there wasn't enough evidence to pin it on him (that this act was premeditated murder).....that "reasonable doubt" thing, right? All in all, I have to admit I'm really surprised he was found not guilty.....

Good lawyers can get people off.
If you own a gun and you feel someone is in your house.. Is it not protocol to look for your loved ones before shooting random shots through closed doors?
I don't know, I don't own a gun. Nor do I feel I own people.

The high profile murder cases are usually prone to outcomes like this, it's enough to make me think that these assholes are somehow in it with the tv companies to get ratings spikes.
