Why do men get turned on by cash ...or case for gambling hells

This story starts off with me quietly sitting in my favorite cafe browsing a god awful erotic novel ...when a guy (I know) stops by & starts delving into his personal journey as a poker star/master.. I swear it was this random, out of the blue

He talks about his desire to possibly quit his job & start playing poker for a living, shows me a snapshot of his wins (couple benjamins spread out)... how he loves it, the psychological/mental techniques involved, etc etc

Encourages me to start too...

I'm like.... uhhh ...this guy doesn't realize who he's talking to ...

But do men literally get turned on by landing a fistful or more of cash ??

He told me it takes me thousands of hours to master poker...

What does money represent to men anyway... (who's secure)

And why don't women chase money (itself)

Noooo .. I really don't have a compelling urge to play poker for losing, gaining money... or even mind games

Now if it was russian roulette or a duel .. I'm in! Let's do this
Your comments are filled with blanket assumptions, feel completely out of touch with reality, and are rather pretentious in nature . How is anyone to intelligently respond to this? To answer your questions as is, is equivalent to overlooking or blindly accepting the notion that 2+2=3 when entering a conversation with a dirty accountant. It just doesn't add up.

It lights up during losses too.

Addictions grab hold of both men and women. Gambling is just another addiction, and I have seen it devastate two relatives--one (a cousin) the racetrack, one (an aunt) at Atlantic City.

Why do people get addicted? The adrenaline rush of winning, which makes them oblivious to their losses. They will tell the story of the 10,000 win over and over, and never comprehend that the 100 losses of $200 each completely negate it.

Most people who gamble do it for fun and never get addicted. Most who truly do it as a profession, i.e. to make money, do it smarter. They grad the many small to mid wins and let the addict brag about the jackpots that actually ruin them.

Since y'all knew each other somewhat, perhaps he stopped by since possibly you earlier somehow somewhere had indicated an interest in his personal life?

Or, perhaps, he noticed the book title and stopped by to hit on you?

Every once in a while I will throw a smile or a wink at a lady (good looking or sexy or not) or even just a "howdy" just to see what happens. Not that I am expecting any reaction other than a bit of reciprocity.

If we are waiting in line together I might say or do a bit more than that. "Love that color on you" if it seems appropriate. Or, "my compliments on the manny-pedi."

Or, "I wish my wife/mistress would smell as great (sexy, if I think I can get away with it) as you do. May I inquire as to the name of your perfume?" If I am feeling particularly older than usual, I might even say "your perfume is intoxicating!"
