Found a new scam on Instagram where people are pretending to be escorts and ask for a deposit up front. It seems legit at first and they really do everything to try and sell the act but I caught the person slipping by asking if she was based in Houston and Dallas on snapchat and instagram. I did send 50 bucks to test out the ad and got nudes. I did call her out on it and recieved voice chats from a woman about her she is in houston rn but coming back to dallas.The person is overly aggressive about receiving the payment prior to the meetup ($250) which is concerning. The account seems legit by every measure but once you've had enough experience you can easily spot the cracks.
Still there is hope that she's legit.

I have been watching her insta… it appears to be 3-4 accounts/girls. Offering doubles etc. one other person on Eccie said he sent $100 only to be ghosted too…

Yup followed all them. They running the same scam. I'm out 50 bucks but at least nudes I guess

Anytime they ask for a deposit, you should ask yourself this question....why am I going to send a deposit to someonme I have never met or spoke to. And then move on to a someone else.

I sent a $100 deposit to someone I saw tonight with no problem. Same person I saw back in May, no problem. Of course, I won't send money to just anyone... they have to meet certain convincing "criteria"
Reputable providers will usually post their deposit policy on their websites. If they have to cancel they will usually return your deposit or offer to reschedule or some other form of compensation. Obviously whoever is running these ads does not qualify as "reputable"
I will say any reputable provider should not only ask for a deposit. If they are asking for a deposit they should also be asking for references or some other form of screening info. Deposit only is a red flag.
