Should Texas and All US Cities Legalize Prostitution?

Hi everybody I'm sure that this has been posted a million times on all different adult boards but i would love to know all that you have to say on this. I know that most if not all of you will agree that prostitution should be legal. This is my thoughts on the subject.

Ok first I believe that as an adult that i have the right to have sex with anybody that i want to and if i choose to accept a "gift" from that person that is my adult right.
Ladies that provide legit services should be able to get a license through the county were they provide services to prove that they are legit and std HIV tested on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. (This is how its done in legal brothels in NV)
The ladies and gents i believe would be safer. If there was a crime committed against the gent or lady it could be safely reported to the police without being concerned with being arrested for the meeting that caused the crime.

Street prostitution would not be considered in this law as if you take a look at a lot (I AM NOT SAYING ALL MY GILR THAT I GOT STARTED WITH WAS A SW AND SHE THAUGHT ME EVERYTHING THAT I KNOW) of the ladies that walk the street they are not using condoms they are spreading std and HIV left and right and not to mention the rampant drug use and beatings and kidnappings that go on its way to dangerous for anybody no matter age or experience.

This is something that i have been looking in to for a while now and have learned alot about. Here are some links to some places that it is legal and how things work there.

So Tell me what you guys think.. Anything that you have to say is welcome.

should it be legal? of course. Will it be, probably not.
Even it so, there will always be a stigma that goes along with it.

we are a country of contradictions, beer and cigs..., sure.... AND tax the hell out of it, but MJ, no way.

In a perfect plan legalization would be as you said, but there would be organization of it and it would get out of hand.

You know as well as i do that there would be some SW cruising the high schools and jacka** taking pimping to a whole new level.

But let me know if you want to run for office, my vote can be bought
I believe that the gov't has no right to tell me what I can do with my conciousness or my body. Whether I want to alter it, sell it, rent it, loan it, or whatever. If prostitution were legal, it could be regulated and taxed. It would be a great source of revenue in places like Dallas. More revenue than fining it, anyway.

Just my 2 cents.
The problem with following the Nevada example, however, lies in the fact that it is only legal in certain areas in Nevada, and then only legal in brothels. You cannot choose to be an indy escort in those areas. So, would you really want to go from being independent and keeping what you earn to having to give someone 50 percent to be "legal"?

Obviously Nevada isn't the greatest example. There are still tons and tons of illegal escorts in Las Vegas.
50%?? Talk to some ladies that have worked at the Bunny Ranch and other brothel whom and are now Indy.

At the brothels, the ladies pay all their own expenses, rent on their room, have to tip out other help, and get fined for all manners of things on top of sharing half of their fees with the house. Some ladies have done quite well. Other ladies say it is a losing proposition and barely get by. Licensing precludes felons and gals with certain other infractions. I don't remember all the licensing rules in Nevada.

I have said this before. If it were legal, corporate greed will drive prices up and the ladies share down. In places like Texas where we enjoy GFE with unprecedented availability, we would see services like CBJ and" no kissing" be the norm again and not the exception.

I can' t see the advantage of legalizing it unless you legalize being independent and not confining activities to legal brothels. Then you take it from being a legal problem to simply a social/medical problem.

Just some thoughts I have on the subject.

you dont want the government taking over and running stuff, as we can see they aren't doing a great job of it now! If you legalize it, the politicians will screw it up by over regulating and taxing us!

I'm all for decriminalization, absolutely against "legalization".

Consensual sex between two adults in a private location should never have been made illegal in the first place, so I support repealing ridiculous laws like that. However, I find anything requiring licensing/mandatory testing/confinement to certain areas/payments to the government or another controlling agency (other than the same income taxes everyone else pays) abhorrent and intrusive.

What's the difference between paying a provider and helping out a girl friend who needs money? Not much. As long as both parties are treated well, who cares. It should be decriminalized.

The laws will change in the U.S. when hell freezes over. Nevada really isn't much of a model, neither is the Netherlands. Both too dry, clinical & commoditized. The hobby will never be any better than it was here not long ago. I say "was" only because the rising rate of MALE unemployment/underemployment in the U.S. is squeezing out the working stiff. It's like when a city's budget hits the wall and they start closing parks & public recreation.

I tend to agree with Carrie on the idea of decriminilization. What must be made a crime is pimping. It is at that point that the problems arise. In England they have a law that is known as "Living off of the immoral earning of..." It is too constrictive because it can be applied to husbands but overall it can be used to help women not to be controlled by others.

And i don't think that it should be mandatory that you have to work in a brothel to be legal but i do think that as i said that it would be safer to report crimes when they happen. Im not sure about you ladies that have responded but I know first hand how hard it can be to get help from the police when bad shit happens i have been there i was robbed at knife point and told i would never see my kids again. When i spoke with the detective on the case as thins happened to several ladies on aspd about a year ago and i was told that unless i would out myself i was shit out of luck. That's not right and if something was done about it or if he would have killed me i would have just be another statistic to them not a real woman with a real family or children.

I would NOT work for a brothel and would NOT simply give away 50% of my money cause they provided things that i can provide on my own.

I do this full time this is how i pay my bills and take care of my family so i dont have to worry about somebody in my "real life" finding out cause they know what i do already i believe in being honest with everybody that is in my life. I dont have the same worry over my "real life" that some of you have because i am out to my family and friends.

Do i think we should be required to be tested YES i do I am tested twice a month for everything to be cautious and for that reason only. I provide a gfe session and because of that i believe its my and any other lady that provide that service to be tested often for us and our clients.
