Western Union as hobby payment?

Hope I am putting this in the right forum.

I'm a newbie, but I was curious if any of you have heard of providers insisting on Western Union as their preferred payment method?

The reason I ask is a certain former pornstar I was always a fan of is now allegedly in the hobby. She claims she only accepts Western Union.

This kind of made the needle on my bullshit detector jump but I was curious what you chaps thought.

Do you have a clear understanding of hobby safety?
And, are you completely ok with the gal having your real world ID?
Western Union requires valid state issued identification for sender and recipient and both folks will end up knowing each others real ID's. Of course, the recipient may not be exactly who you think she is, if she has someone else pick up the payment.
Seriously, unless you have an exsisting long term situation and already know real world IDs, use green dot, or vanilla, or whatever.

Wasn't aware that real IDs were used. Never used Western Union for anything before. Whole thing sounds pretty spurious now. I should have suspected as much from the get go.

The stories that surround pre-paying are frightening...as stated above, green is mean so be keen.

Sounds like another wrinkle on the infamous Nigerian email, $8 million bank transfer I got the other day.
Amazing how people actually fall for this scam.
Prepaid is only for phones if you ask me.
