Obamacare-The Rest of the Story

Effective Jan 1, 2013--under the new health care bill, all real estate transactions are subject to a 3.8% sales tax. Be sure sure to thank Nancy, Harry, Barack, your local Democrat Congressman and the idiots who elected them. Read the rest of the story for more benefits.

not quite as bad as that little blurp, but definitely a little confusing. But on a 200k home it should = 0, if I understand it correctly. Hope this helps clear it up some. It specifically references this article in this paper.

Thanks for showing us the truth, daarakan. You can always count on a conservative coward to lie in order to make you see their way. Toolman, don't you have an oil company you have to apologize to. You are a lot smarter than me, why should we not make BP pay?

Trying to simplify every argument against a bill, healthcare in this case, to a two word sound byte, i.e. death panels or home tax, doesn't help the overall argument or discussion.

Wow, great assesment, daarakan. I KNOW we can do better as a country if we can agree on something.

It would be nice to find common ground. We made a huge mistake. America didn't vote for BO they voted against GWB and the Repubs. Unfortunately, as far as common ground goes, I see non. Why, because I don't believe in Socialism. I believe in Americans, not our Government playing big daddy. I've been around since Carter and it will never work. We have not seen the worst of it yet.

Yeah, I don't see it working either and this country will go down in flames because of people like datyking and toolman. Whenever their side loses it's the end of the world. When the second Bush was in power, democrats lined up with the president because of 911. When they saw how bad their governing was and actually said something we were commies who hated America, I was in the military and somehow I was anti American. We got kicked in our teeth because of it.

Republcans care about corporations, it's all about looking out for your own as soon as there is any talk to help the poor, they'll be the first to say no. But if an oil company screws up royally they are the first to apologize and that is the difference between the two sides.

Obamacare will degrade quality of care generally. Those tax increases that "only" apply to the top X percentile of earners? Don't worry, they're coming for you next. Many of you weren't around when the scheme known as the alternative minimum tax was first devised as a populist wheeze to catch fewer than a fraction of the top one percentile of taxpayers....those who avoided paying any tax because they generated all their income from tax exempt bonds. Stir in a few years of inflation and now the friggin' AMT becomes a serious threat to most of us.

But none of those things will matter much because we either lose Obama....or we lose our country, insofar as it is the center of freedom's gravity for the world. Obamacare is not at all about health care; it's simply the instrument for the entrenchment of government bureaucrats in every aspect of our formerly private lives and the establishment of authoritarianism:

Is U.S. Now On Slippery Slope To Tyranny?

When Adolf Hitler was building up the Nazi movement in the 1920s, leading up to his taking power in the 1930s, he deliberately sought to activate people who did not normally pay much attention to politics.
Such people were a valuable addition to his political base, since they were particularly susceptible to Hitler's rhetoric and had far less basis for questioning his assumptions or his conclusions.
"Useful idiots" was the term supposedly coined by V.I. Lenin to describe similarly unthinking supporters of his dictatorship in the Soviet Union.
Put differently, a democracy needs informed citizens if it is to thrive, or ultimately even survive.
In our times, American democracy is being dismantled, piece by piece, before our very eyes by the current administration in Washington, and few people seem to be concerned about it.
The president's poll numbers are going down because increasing numbers of people disagree with particular policies of his, but the damage being done to the fundamental structure of this nation goes far beyond particular counterproductive policies.
Just where in the Constitution of the United States does it say that a president has the authority to extract vast sums of money from a private enterprise and distribute it as he sees fit to whomever he deems worthy of compensation? Nowhere.
And yet that is precisely what is happening with a $20 billion fund to be provided by BP to compensate people harmed by their oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
Many among the public and in the media may think that the issue is simply whether BP's oil spill has damaged many people, who ought to be compensated.
But our government is supposed to be "a government of laws and not of men."
If our laws and our institutions determine that BP ought to pay $20 billion — or $50 billion or $100 billion — then so be it.
But the Constitution says that private property is not to be confiscated by the government without "due process of law."
Technically, it has not been confiscated by Barack Obama, but that is a distinction without a difference.
With vastly expanded powers of government available at the discretion of politicians and bureaucrats, private individuals and organizations can be forced into accepting the imposition of powers that were never granted to the government by the Constitution.
If you believe that the end justifies the means, then you don't believe in constitutional government.
And, without constitutional government, freedom cannot endure. There will always be a "crisis" — which, as the president's chief of staff has said, cannot be allowed to "go to waste" as an opportunity to expand the government's power.
That power will of course not be confined to BP or to the particular period of crisis that gave rise to the use of that power, much less to the particular issues.
When Franklin D. Roosevelt arbitrarily took the United States off the gold standard, he cited a law passed during the First World War to prevent trading with the country's wartime enemies. But there was no war when FDR ended the gold standard's restrictions on the printing of money.
At about the same time, during the worldwide Great Depression, the German Reichstag passed a law "for the relief of the German people."
That law gave Hitler dictatorial powers that were used for things going far beyond the relief of the German people — indeed, powers that ultimately brought a rain of destruction down on the German people and on others.
If the agreement with BP was an isolated event, perhaps we might hope that it would not be a precedent. But there is nothing isolated about it.
The man appointed by President Obama to dispense BP's money as the administration sees fit, to whomever it sees fit, is only the latest in a long line of presidentially appointed "czars" controlling different parts of the economy, without even having to be confirmed by the Senate, as Cabinet members are.
Those who cannot see beyond the immediate events to the issues of arbitrary power — vs. the rule of law and the preservation of freedom — are the "useful idiots" of our time. But useful to whom?

You have a picture of OUR president as some type of villian I could give a fuck what your American hating faggoty ass thinks. I didn't like bush but he was OUR president, and I never would of resort to some bullshit like that. What did you say about his governing? I bet it wasn't a disrepectful picture like your avatar.

But it is your first amendment right to do that, just like it's mine to tell you that you are a POS.

First, you start with an altogether inferior being. Then you embolden it (that means: give it courage) by cloaking it with anonymity, you drive it mad with an all consuming envy of its betters, and - the piece de resistance - you arrest its development at a 3rd grade level.

HOW TO REASON WITH AN OBAMA SUPPORTER:

You can't. Their ignorance is of the willful, invincible variety.

HOW TO DEAL WITH AN OBAMA SUPPORTER:

In Cyberspace: Easy. The ignore button was invented for such pathetic lifeforms.

In the real world: For some reason everyone I ever meet in the real world is always extremely courteous to me. Wonder why? I guess internet trolls do, on occasion, leave their mommy's basement, but I never encounter them.

Buh-bye little troll. You gone.

If the article is incorrect, I stand corrected. ... Except for the part about the ... um, persons ... who elected Obama.

The following has been attributed as a translation of a quote from a German-language newspaper, the Prager Zeitung, dated April 28, 2010. I have not been able to verify the attribution. However, regardless of the source of the quote, its sentiment is correct:

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president."

"The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.”

I think it was Hillary Clinton who said, "it takes a village to raise a child." I don't happen to agree with her ideas about parental rights and obligations, but it surely took a village full of idiots to elevate Barak Obama to the Office of the President. I didn't elect him and he's not "my" President.

By the way, xxr76xx, you need to go back to your village. Your Prince is calling.
