Our Lady of Sorrows Academy, a fundamentalist Catholic school in Phoenix, declined to play Mesa Prep because of a strict parish policy prohibiting participation in co-ed sports. The school is affiliated with the U.S. branch of the Society of Saint Pius X, a group of conservative priests who broke away from the Catholic Church in the 1980s over church reforms.

The church/school made a decision to stand by their principles. Good for them.
No different from the Orthodox Jewish school that was willing to give up their right to play for the State Basketball title in Texas if it meant they had to play on their sabbath.

I do not think so.

I believe that each individual should have the freedom to make that choice.

Just as I believe that each person should have the right to choose who they love and want to marry. It should be equality for all. There should be no laws for or aganist it. Legal age and choice is my view.

They will figure out girls are fun to play with soon enough.

So you're okay with Jake marrying his goats? Cool...

The Arizona Charter Athletic Association stipulated that girls could only play boys sports if their school didn't offer an alternative girls sport(Softball) which that school didn't. The State of Arizona is okay with that so it is in essence a law. Kind of a reach to compare this with Gay Marriage IMO. But if that's what Arizona wants good for them. My problem is that more than likely the stipulation is made to be in compliance with Title IX...Just another way of the Federal Gov't imposing it's will on the States.

Maybe Jake was trying to make the goat an honest woman. She was about to become a . . . wait for it . . . a Maaa Maaaa!

God, I crack myself up sometimes!

The government needs to stay out of it.
IT IS FUCKING SPORTS.

The gay marriage is a non-issue, it is a state choice. If you do not like what a majority of people decide in that state; go to a different state. there are 49 more of them. Or, you can choose to stay and put your money where your "thoughts" are and fund a get out the vote and change it IN YOUR STATE.
The federal government does not issue marriage licenses.

If a school does not want to play another school that has a girl on their team , then fine with me. No government should intervene. Same as marriage. If a man choses to marry another man, fine, no government should stop them. But some on here are fine with personal choice unless it goes aganist their morals, then they want the government to define it. They have no trouble discriminating aganist others that are not just like them. What kind of personal freedom are they talking about?

Common law marriages are recognized without any contract. What's the point of a marriage contract anyway. Isn't that just government sanctioning?
CuteOldGuy's Avatar
Common law marriage statutes vary by state. Again, it was designed to effectuate the transfer of property.

Are you for that type of discrimination?

If the roles were reversed and the Gay ass fucs said a man and a woman could not get married would you think that was discrimination? You can't have it both ways, either it is discrimination or or not.
boardman's Avatar
Yet you will discriminate against Jake because he and his goat want to get married. To borrow from you: You can't have it both ways.
