Why is it that sometimes, when I display a thread, I start at the very beginning and sometimes, I go straight to the first unread post ( which would be m preference)? Is there a setting to default to first unread?

If you start with the Upstate NY page: http://www.eccie.net/forumdisplay.php?f=466 and then hit the title of a thread in the "Last Post" column, you get the last post to that thread. However, you can only get the thread with the latest activity.
If you start with a forum page, e.g.: http://www.eccie.net/forumdisplay.php?f=490 and then hit the title of any thread, you get the first post to that thread.
If you start with a forum page, e.g.: http://www.eccie.net/forumdisplay.php?f=490 and then hit the title of any thread, you get the first post to that thread.

You can also press
this down arrow that appears directly before new post threads and it will take you to the next unread post

Jack, your examples ID the issue. I just wish the second worked like the first. Perhaps a note in the board suggestion box is in order
