Documents show Backpage.com took in $50 million in ads between 2013 and 2015.
The state said it’s in the process of shutting down the website.
Get ready to see a flood of both talent and pimps.

Will they shut down the site? I think it is time for someone to start an app an somehow modernize how the industry works today.

WTF?

What are they going to charge Internet and phone companies becaause their internet service and phones were used as well?

This seems like a BS charge.
While it might seem like a "BS" charge, I highly doubt the heavy hand of the TxAG is wasting time with this one. I'm of the opinion that investigators have acquired a mountain load of evidence against against this person. No way the TxAG is going to act on this unless they think a successful prosecution is on the horizon.

Don't fool yourself either; ECCIE is likely under investigation as I write this. I'm sure the proximity of the Backpage arrest has raised eyebrows around here.

What are they really after? an end to prostitution? Doubtful. This is political theater in an election year. IF they actually intend to see a change, it is to make sure there is not sex traffic/slavery/minors involved--not hobbyists.

The local escorts page is still up (at this moment with the latest ad Oct 7 10:00 AM) http://austin.backpage.com/FemaleEscorts/

I suspect that the Texas Attorney General's own legal defense cases have taken a turn for the worst. I am suggesting this is a smoke screen to cover with own shit.
Ken Paxton is a criminal. He is doing this to draw attention from the federal charges against him. This will also lock in the religious zealot vote. He is on track to be our next governor when the rolling homophobic but runs for President
Yeah, thanks for voting in Republi-tards...NOT.

California's Attorney General (who's a Democrat) conducted a three-year investigation on the website, long before Paxton was indicted on charges of fraud. Paxton's office was most likely involved since BP is headquartered in Dallas.

The investigation was sparked by reports from media, law enforcement agencies, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
In addition to NCMEC, other agencies assisting in the investigation include the Texas Attorney General’s office, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Human Trafficking Taskforce, the Long Beach Police Department, the Mesa Police Department, the Rocklin Police Department, the Napa Police Department, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the U.S. Department of Justice.
Investigations of this magnitude cost a lot of money and resources. AG's at this level typically don't file charges unless they're sure that they can win.

Don't kid yourself, ECCIE is living on borrowed time.
