George R.R. Martin's Dance of Dragons finally released!

Yay! I got my book today after strolling into the bookstore and idly asking when it was going to be released, since I figured it was going to be another week.

Yay! Today was the release date!

Anyone else catching up on their Song of Fire and Ice books?

I am! Gotta have something to read while I wait for the Wheel of Time series to finish! I didn't even know about this series until after the first episode on HBO, but it got me hooked and I started into them the next day.

Like McDonalds says... I'm lovin it!

only five freakin years. He's gonna die like Jordan did, I just know it.

I'm not gonna reread til the end of the series though.

While y'all are waiting for these series to finish, check out Steven Eriksen's Book of the Malazan. Same scope, 10 books, but he actually finished them.

Love the series, hate the author.

I have a friend who keeps trying to get me to read Malazan and I got through 150 pages and had to stop for a week, and was lost when I came back to it and couldn't bring myself to start over. According to a couple of people, the first book is really slow, and the second is a little slow, and it really picks up during the third book.

I hate Kruppy though-- I think my interest in trying to reread his chapters just had me annoyed!

My favorite series is Jaqueline Carey's Kushiel's Dart series. Got some good BDSM erotica mixed in with the political intrigue
