Is Provider Out and Hooker In? What the what?

Ive been in this business a long time so call me old school. But, I've never heard er... Read so many "Gentlemen" (hmmmm.... Nope, that doesn't sound right) use the term Hooker as they do now. Call me crazy but, the last time I checked.... That was a negative terminology.

Someone referred to me as a "Hook" in a thread once ....at the same time he was paying me a compliment. Client: "Yeah, I emailed that Hook. She was really cool. I may have to hit that.".

Ummmmmm Thank you?

So, is being thought of or referred to as a Provider just a thing of the past? Because if so.... I prefer Hot Slut over Hooker.. Just sayin.

I've seemed to notice the trend also. To me it comes down to social status and respect. To me a "hooker" would be synonymous with a streetwalker turning $25 tricks to support her habit. The ladies I wish to encounter are classy and hot.....someone you fantasize about. I'll go with your "Hot Slut" lol but what happened to the term courtesan? That was used a lot for ladies like yourself who are a step above so to speak.

To me I feel there's been more disrespect for providers lately. I'm not sure if it's generational perhaps? Desensitizing due to so much porn available today that the idea of the "cheap whore" is what some guys believe all ladies are.

I'm careful about who I see and feel ladies should do the same. The more we do positively in the client/provider business the happier and mutually beneficial it stays for us with a bit of good tast.

Just my 2 cents.....I'll likely get flamed.....oh well?
I think it is just in the eyes of the client...I still think of eccie or P411 ladies as providers or escorts....higher end of the spectrum...hookers more of the street variety ..Just my opinion but you definately fall in the provider or escort variety..

I've seen the trend also. Seems like a pop culture generational thing. It does seem derogatory and is not a term I will use.

To me, all you professional ladies are courtesans, escorts, and providers. And I will treat you with respect. Guess that's why I tend to the more mature ladies that are comfortable with themselves and their chosen profession. And, damn good at it!
Look around!! Do you really think any of US know what is IN and what is OUT???

Kelly, your observation seems to be way too accurate.

Unfortunately, the "old" model of client/provider seems to have morphed into john/hooker (or even worse) as the P universe expands.

Many hobbying males (I cannot use the word "gentleman" in this perspective) seem to be seeking only the sex, not the intimacy, these dayz.

Equally true, it seems, many incoming females are offering only the sex and not the intimacy.

i feel like guys who use terms like "hooker" and etc intentionally to rile people up are ones that are just pretty miserable and dont really look at this like "fun." they are trying to excuse and make joke of a situation knowing that if p4p didnt exist, they would have more money, but no honey.

you know, putting others down to feel better about yourself.

there is a reason jerry springer has been on tv for so long....
The proper terminology is prostitute. I use to say whore but found people thought is was not a nice word so now I refer to the ladies as prostitutes because that is the proper term according to the dictionary. I try to live in the truth and truth is we are men that pay for sex, not intimacy, but sex. Intimacy does not exost when it is only an act. For intimacy to exist both have to feel the closeness and togetherness. She does not feel that, she is working and acting. So, living in truth I do not pay for intimacy as I am not that close to her, really don't even know her and she does not know me.I guess hooker is a negative term like whore. So, to not offensive I say prostitute. That is what she is. Not an escort not a provider. I am not the new generation, I am just truthful. Using terms like provider is a form Iif denial, no one likes being a prostitute as noone likes being overweight. But calling an obese person unthin or something other than obese is denial. Now calling that person fat or tubby is negative. Proper term is obese.Using the word provider is too ambiguous as we all are providers, I provide repair services but my business card does not say provoder, it says mechanic or repairman.
I agree with you ...

Boudin, thanks for discriminating and clarifying between sex and intimacy.

The prostitute definition in that regard is quite accurate, imo.

Thing is, again, imo, many gents hobby for the intimacy. And, imo, so do many ladies.

imo, many males hobby for the sex. The ability to carve a bedpost notch or a notch in their belt.

There are many females who accommodate that, but, imo, there are relatively few genuine nymphomaniacs in the hobby world.

Perhaps a few other words should apply, such as:

Courtesan

Companion

Playmate

In any case, it is not always the word itself, but the tone in which it is applied.
