Posting Reviews without using VPN?

Question for those who are tech savvy: Ever since this big internet surveillance shift, I’ve been hesitant to post reviews on here and OH because I don’t have a VPN on my desktop computer (& posting from my phone, which has VPN, is a pain). For safety/security, should it be mandatory to download a VPN on my desktop for review posting?
