I give McCarthy one thing. He finally got to be speaker and will be forgotten by next year. The dude wields no power and doesn’t know a thing about legislating. The McCarthy era will be so short lived and might go into the history books as the Failed Speakership.

As for the legislative budget and negotiations on the debt ceiling, that shit is DOA. He’s been in congress through several shut downs. Almost all (if not all) under a republican congress and it always ends the same. The republicans never get what they want. But they do get the blame.
