Bitten Beating Down Putin

News report: 3,000-4,000 U.S. troops to be dispatched to Ukraine.

More deaths of U.S. military personnel from Bitten's stupidity.

And the Chinese will attack when Putin does.

Biden Weighs Deploying Thousands of Troops to Eastern Europe and Baltics

President Biden is considering deploying several thousand U.S. troops, as well as warships and aircraft, to NATO allies in the Baltics and Eastern Europe, an expansion of American military involvement amid mounting fears of a Russian incursion into Ukraine, according to administration officials.

Russians are taking a page out of the Chinese book.

China policy is not to relinquish any more ground. They know that in allowing people to stand for themselves is a threat to the Party and its power. So, they will do anything to stomp down any dissent.

Russia has seen alot of the satellite countries leave the fold and it leaves Moscows influence weaker and weaker. Ukraine is a big place. Would be a severe loss to lose the former USSR country. And it would leave Putin looking weak. We all know that he doesn't like that.

some decided to join the new Russian Federation. not Ukraine among others. of course Putin wants to get Ukraine back. but unless Ukraine which has a strong independent streak voluntarily decides to join the Federation then invading is the only way that happens ... and if Russia wins. that's not a guaranteed as it once was.

does anyone here realize what Putin really wants?

he wants the U.S. out of Europe and NATO. and we should be out of NATO after the fall of the USSR. at the end of WWII, NATO to counter the Soviet Union while all of western Europe was in ruins was needed. that need ended decades ago. and we should have left a long time ago.

who said this ..

"There is no reason for the American taxpayers, in the face of our own substantial deficit, to continue to subsidize Germany, France, England, Norway, Belgium and other prosperous European democracies."

and this ..

"If in 10 years, all American troops stationed in Europe for national defense purposes have not been returned to the United States, then this whole project will have failed."

this ..

“Turkey even gets to renegotiate (NATO) base rights every year. I don't know what genius negotiated that deal, but every year we give Turkey the option to shoot at our feet and say, 'Tap-dance, Uncle Sam!’ ... As long as (our NATO allies) can get one more bite out of the apple, nobody is going to voluntarily say, 'We will pay more money.’ ”

all these statements must be that Evil Donald Trump railing against NATO, right???

you'd be wrong.

the answers will surprise you.

Oh course he wants us out.
He has become everything in Russia but a dictator but that is only because his official title isn't called that.
And what is to have him stop at Ukraine?
Hence the deterrent called NATO.
I won't argue being in/withdrawing from the organization but we are just one member of such.

And China has been pushing back for a few administrations.

When poll numbers are low, start a new war. Yay.

We made fun of Trump when it looked like he was playing lapdog to Vladimir Putin. But Trump actually may have been playing him like a fiddle. The pundits are saying Putin right now is reacting to humiliation of Russia after the FSU and Warsaw Pact broke apart, and wants some respect. Trump gave him respect. Paying respect to autocrats with words doesn't cost money or lives. Admittedly paying respect with deeds like Neville Chamberlin did can backfire though.

What it looks like now is that Russia will do what it wants, and we'll look powerless. That doesn't serve the USA's best interests, and, as LexusLover said, may be an invitation to China to invade Taiwan.

I'd be shocked if Putin invaded before the Olympics were over . Wouldn't want to piss off his new buddy Xi, who maybe the only friend Russia has IF Xi gives a shit about anything other than pissing off the US.

Putin has to know by now, that NATO isn't about to let the corrupt Ukraine into NATO any time soon if ever and without Russia provocations, there wouldn't be a need to let them in anyway WHICH IS A BAD IDEA TO BEGIN WITH.

as far the dynamic of Xi and Putin .. think Hitler and Stalin. they are BFF's .. until they aren't. they'll carve up Asia and far eastern Europe until it's no longer in their interests to do so. then they'll be at each other's throats. what they want is to destroy the U.S. they'll be BFF's till the day after than happens .. then they'll be bitter enemies.
